Maybe a little, just like scenes to connect campaigns, like erm;

"hey is that a litle boy down there?"

"yeah it is, oh look he's all alone, oh no! zombies!"

"AH! we have to help him; bring down the" *thinking time*...."microlight"(?)

Microlight (i can't think of anything better) gets trashed little boy turns out to be a cardboard cut out of.... *thinking time*....Pip boy(?).

So long as your escape viechle doesn't keep breaking, or come down with a case of 'the piolet's a zombie.'

I'd normally say no, but being that everything Valve shits out is made of gold I'm sure they'd find a way to make it awsome without undermining the series roots.

It could make TF2 make the jump from average to good. Of course then we would have to deal with more writing from the guys behind TF2, and does anyone really want that?
You wouldn't know good writing if it beat you up and stole your lunch money.

Pretty much the whole premise of TF2 is the classes - a full level as the Engineer/Medic would be dull or would defeat the point of the class. With the Scout, the levels would have to be jumping puzzles, and it's hard enough to just make it from the bridge on 2Fort to the other balcony. I can't really see it working.

I can see it as a Team vs Environment kind of thing.

July 4th, 2020 ... An elite Red squad led by Sergeant General Major Corporal Bob and his brave cook Jimmy Cookings, a black scottish demoman, as well as a not so friendly quadruple french agent, Jean Pierre de la Fleur are tasked to sabotage the Communist Blue's mining facilities.

Different scenarios, different timeline, maybe making parodies of actual historical military operations or made up ones. Those could be fun.

How would the Red and Blues tackle a hostage situation gone wrong? What would the Red and blues have done during the Normandy landing?

Imagine your favorite animated Pixar film. Now, imagine the main characters killing each other.
Yes, I'd love to see the Incredibles destroy Nemo.

I'd love a sort of Reservoir Dogs narrative based around the intelligence case, with trademark TF2 humour of course.

I don't think it should have a story mode, afetr all it is a multi-player game. but I'd love to see an animated movie done by Valve on it, afetr they finally get out a few games I've been waiting for, like L4D2 and HL2 Ep 3. Then they could make it with no complaint, and if you have seen the Meet the Spy video you know how good it would be.

I don't see why not. I mean it would be great for experimenting with classes and seeing which one is right for you rather than going through the entire list and failing until you got the right one.

id like it, but not from like a background story mode, i dont really care why the medic is the medic or the pyro the pyro, but an adventure mode wher you play various levels going with their strengths and weaknesses as each team member would be cool, with unlockables like after completion, play any level as any character. hidden objects in each level, like certain items disappearing after a certain time in a medics level, but you can gte it by going back through the level as a scout using his speed.. thoughts?

Just no. Wouldn't work at all. A TV series or something similar sounds great though. Red would obviously come out on top in every episode, as they do in the shorts, which would seriously undermine Blue's already frail ego.

i dont know unless valve wanted to design a completely different game it would just end up like unreal tournament: online game offline with cutscenes.

Maybe as a tutorial mode that new players are required to complete before playing multiplayer games...
Not a bad idea.

I reckon that rather than a single-player campaign you could add more objective-based game types, rather than the "go stand over there" games already available.

It'd be nice, but since their are Nine of the same people on both sides, I think it'd be a tad confusing.

No. Why?
The only way i can imagine it being good is if you could play anyone from TF2 in HL2 game. It would be fun to kill zombies while being a spy or engineer, but as i think about it... no! Just no.
