I like the way Team fortress is, there's hints here and there in the maps of certain things there fighting over or for and I quite like making up little stories for why there fighting and what there motives are.

I would have only one reason to buy it then.

The world most hilarious scripts.

I mean, just take a look at the meet the classes videos.

I believe there's a company that's threatening to make an animated movie. Similar concept.

It would certainly be good for the online community, fewer noobs means fewer Engies putting sentries in the middle of nowhere. fewer Snipers (Snoipahs) on payload maps, fewer Scouts on defensive CP games.

Also, it would be alot of fun to see them try to make the whole concept into a narrative format. Since all the characters seem to know they are in an Online Multiplayer FPS, rather than a real war.

I want an 'Informing next-of-kin.' mission for soldier.

It wouldn't work as you would need to create a generic enemy or generically kill throughout the story campaign

I'd normally say no, but being that everything Valve shits out is made of gold I'm sure they'd find a way to make it awsome without undermining the series roots.
Pretty much this

No I don't think it should have a story mode. The game doesn't have the depth for a single player campaign. I just don't feel like the gameplay would be that much better. However I do believe that the story and writing might actually be something worth while/

It would be cool in its own way, but I want episode three.

The spy would be cool. I can imagine Splinter Cell-esque missions already.

Hell no.

That would piss off a ton of people. Mainly, the one's that want to the rest of the classes to be updated and the game to be balanced. It's a game designed for multiplayer to. Why does it need a single player?
If we are talking the SP campaign would come in some sort of update then I am 100% with you. If on the other hand it was put out as a full retail game and had some creative minds behind it (who also understand what makes a game fun or not) I think there is some huge potential for a great game. The question would be how to do it. Do you go with a Jericho type game that you can switch characters on the fly? Or do you give each class thier own story and levels and go with the whole same overall story from different POVs? And do you stick to the FPS or go with a different genre?
