Not trying to be totally awful here, but as a gamer pushing 30, I REALLY don't enjoy playing with screaming 12 years olds, you know what I mean? I think I'd be willing to pay a premium to only play with other adults. Not a whole bunch, but maybe an extra 5$ a month. I wouldn't minds spending the extra coin for a better gaming experience, would you?

This assuming the average adult player is any better behaved.

And no, as the mute button is free.

No, the mute function works. plus I'm a casual player, and the average kid usually isn't that good, therefore on my skill level........

If, in the process of screening out little kids, they could also screen out annoying or dickish adults, then yes.
If they can ensure an online experience where people use the mic as more than their verbal toilet, then I would pay a little extra for that.

Of course I rarely play online multiplayer at all, so kind of a moot point.

Nope. There's a mute button. And tone of voice rarely annoys me as much as the abuse that gets hurled anyway. Though I might be in favour of a system that uses the age given by a player when they create a profile being used to actually stop them playing age inappropriate games. Maybe.

No. Why would I pay just to stay away from those bastards when I can just mute them in the first place?

I find that children are no more likely to be dicks on Xbox live than adults, to be honest. If it had some kind of universal douche-bag screening test then I might be interested, but it would have to be extremely cheap to compete with the completely free mute button. I'd also have to play more multi-player games to consider it, I suppose.

I don?t even bother wearing a headset unless I?m playing with a friend.
It?s not like anyone ever says anything useful.

I vote yes only if it means more teamplay and cooperation. Which is not related to adultes OR kids unfortunately.

Good idea, but won't work as we wish!

And that mute button works wonder for now:]

No, because of a few reasons:
-The "adult test" would probably be simple enough for a kid to get through like any age verifier online is.
-Mute function is awesome
-Many adults act as bad as some kids
-Many kids act as good as some adults
-It wouldn't affect team play at all because many people, both kids and adults, are either terrible or amazing at games, so there would still be people going rogue, camping, noob tubing, etc.
-My online on the PS3 and Steam is free so I don't have an Xbox :p

(Note: I AM NOT STARTING A FLAME WAR. If you quote me to argue with my last point, which is made in no ill manner, I will ignore you.)

No, although if it were possible, I'd definitely pay to use an adult only third party service. However, the console big boys like to stay in control of their own online services

I agree all, hail the mighty mute button!

But I wish the controller had some kind of sensor that would get hot and burn any underage hands that touch it while playing a rated M game. Now that would be awesome.

Nope, as a 30 year old man, I know there are plenty of places I can game online and not run into screaming 12-year-olds... and I don't pay for any online gaming services at the moment. I guess we're just not into the same games... or gaming systems.

Pretty much.

That and I've played with some wonderful children, like the 8 year old child of one my clan's best Heavies in TF2, back when he was still in our clan. He was a bright little chipper, a good sport and made a wonderful Spy to boot. Every new guy that came on the server and raged about 'that squeeker' was in big trouble.

Online 90% of adults are as bad or worse than the screaming children.

I hate the 16-25 year old pricks who think they're god's gift to XboxLive much, much more.

Oh god yes. Maybe then, people on BC2 would enjoy communicating with their squad.

If we're assuming that it was 100% foolproof and no kid would be able to abuse the system through some loophole (using this as a hypothesis not a realistic scenario), then yes, i would. I hate kids. Even if they're not being pricks, i just don't like them. I don't like listening to them, i don't like being around them. Put in the nicest way possible, of course.
