Anyone else want it? I just finished the game, and I found it amazing. Sure its graphics could be improved and gameplay but its universe was great and I loved its convo system that felt your desecions really held wieght.

So What do you guys think?

I would love it. Shame it didn't do so well. Yeah it was buggy and unpolished, but the amount of control you have over the story is rivaled only by The Witcher.

Not sure if I'd want a sequel though, maybe another game with the same premise. And less bugs.

That could also be good, maybe also have more control over the character. I liked Thorton but it would have been cooler to have my own personal spy. :)

Standard Obsidian Fare - Great story that dissolves near the end. buggy and unpolished, but ultimately enjoyable gameplay.
Bad voice acting.

As Irridium said, same premise, more polish.

The game itself wasn't all that amazing, but I see it as a proof-of-concept more than anything else.

Would be interesting to see what someone might come up with given the time to polish everything up a bit more.

What they need to do is add in an "Archer" dialog option, where he responds to people with the style just like Stirling Archer.

If you haven't seen "Archer", fix that.

I don't know what people hated about the game...they said it was buggy and everything but I found 0 bugs, 0 glitches. I think the console versions were maybe unpolished but the PC one(the one I had) was perfect. It's the most fun 100 hours I've sunk in a game(besides minecraft)

Actually, that seems more likely to happen.
They've issued a statement all but saying that an Alpha Protocol 2 won't happen.

In light of a sequel, a similar, more polished game would be more likely.

I played on Xbox 360. Not a single glitch in 30 hours.

Why do I keep seeing this?
Surely I can't be the ONLY one that liked the voice acting.

- Bad gameplay
- Bland characters for the most part (dreadful acting)
- Confusing and forgettable story
- Full of bugs (surprise, surprise)
- Bottlenecked choices (I can invest points in stealth, but when the majority of the game doesn't take advantage of that, why bother? I was getting ambushes twice a level at one point)
- Crappy mission structure (why are conversations and action areas almost completely segregated?)
- Awful boss fights

Maybe conversations really did affect shit, but I was so uninterested in the story and the characters that I really don't have a clue, nor do I have a desire to try it in a different way to find out.

But hey, on the plus side, the conversations had a timer on.

[sub]We didn't get on very well. And they released a statement saying there'd be no sequel.[/sub]

Never played it because of all the bad things I heard, but sequels are made to improve upon and fix their predecessors, so yeah, bug free and improved, it'd be awesome.

I've had a few, nothing too bad though.
There is a pretty bad one on the american embassy though, if you go in through the roof there's a chance that it'll say you killed the marines to get in, other than that though I've heard of nothing all that bad.

Alpha Protocol was a nice little gem in 2010. I don't recall a lot of bugs that broke my experience.

I'd like to see an Alpha Protocol 2. Too bad they won't give it a chance.

Never played the darn thing, so I do not know. It would certainly be interesting to see, but I doubt it would happen since the game sold like crap.

I would love a sequel but I don't think they can milk another story out of Thornton, so either a totally different character or a new game would do it. I didn't encounter many bugs either except for one weird performance issue which was fixed with googling and erasing one line in configuration files. Now that I think about it if I didn't have too many games still waiting for me already, I would gladly go back to replay AP again.

Yes, I haven't played the first game but apparently its plagued with bugs almost to the point that its unplayable. However, I have heard that behind all those bugs is a gem of a game. I'd like to see the series continue, give it another shot. It seemed like a brilliant idea plagued with poor execution. So yeah, I'm all for a sequel.

Need to play it, but from the positive things I have heard (and fallout New vegas which is about 80% more canon acceptable than fallout 3 if fallout 3 hadnt been released, but since it has, is part of Fallout canon) Obsidian has great writers. And people talk bugs up really bad.
