Yeah, fair enough. I created in my head, but never quite finished, a Mass Effect fan-fic that consisted of a C-Sec officer and a Quarian, who was looking for Tali, attempting to shut down a crime lord dealing in pieces of Sovreign, which the Council wanted for research into Reaper tech. There was a pretty big twist near the end, which is pretty easy to guess once you learn the meaning behind the name of the crime lord, Casper.

No, but I have often thought of how to make the best episode ever of series. Usually it is all the main characters killing each other in a gladiatorial arena :D

I've written some rather public fan-fiction, yes... one series was adopted into canon as a nod, and another got me some seriously-scary attention that ended up as an unintended Google-bomb. Maybe I'll go pro[sup]*[/sup] sometime, should I ever get off my butt and get serious.

[sup]*[/sup]Arguably, that could be "come out of retirement" as I did a stint in the "minor leagues" of game writing back in the '90s.

I've written some stories set in the Halo universe that take place after Halo 3

In Halo 3, if you beat the game on legendary, it proves that the Master Chief isn't dead, but he floats in another planet. There were two stories. The first one is that the planet he lands on happens to be a flood infected planet, and it reads in the style of a horror book, so there's a lot of graphic imagery. The other one happens to be a training ground for new Spartans A' La Reach. If anyone is wondering what the Reach in the upcoming Halo reach means, it's the training ground for Spartans. It takes place 10 years from Halo 3, and it's the Chief training the Spartans until it gets attacked, then it shifts focus from the chief, to the new Spartans.

I never posted them of course.

I've never actually WRITTEN anything, but I make up storylines in my head all the time. I had a really good idea recently where Scarecrow from the Batman comics became a anti-hero of sorts.

Yeah, quite a bit. Mostly crack, though. I don't read much anymore, because people come up with some craaaaaazy shit and really creepy pairings. If anyone's ever seen Naruto, then you'll be just as disgusted as I was when I cam across a Konohamaru/Tsunade pairing. Blecccchh :S
Let me just take a moment to get rid of the mental images...

OT - Yes, I write Fanfiction. I'm in the middle of writing an epic saga that subtly takes the overused plots and pisses on them.
Link?

Oh and take note, I wrote the beginning ages ago so the main characters names are coincidental

A question. I story tell role playing games like white-wolf and d&d, does this make me guilty if they have a particular theme or is that not close enough to fan fiction technically?

Oh yeah. A friend of mine had his own website, moderate traffic, completely pointless. So four of us decided to do weekly chapters on this story. On odd numbered chapters we had the option to introduce a new character, evens we couldn't. It was fun for a few weeks. After week 16 it was boring. When Lestat and Superman were trying to fight with Link and Richard Rahl, I lost faith in the concept.

Ehh.... I could have sworn that I have written like one or two, but none come to my mind..
Although, I hate to admit that I have made a lot of fan characters...

I've never written nor read any fanfiction.
This, and I plan to keep it that way.

It's like horrible was distilled into its purest form and mixed with utter suck.

But goddamn if it's not hilarious (there's a drinking game!)

And no, I've not read it.
But I've read of it.
This has changed my life...thank you, I must kill myself because I read the first 2 chapters and I feel like a stoopid person.....I must read something intelligent to regain mah snmarts!

I've written bits and pieces before, but I freely admit that it's garbage. It's fun. Every time someone leaves a positive comment [http://www.fanfiction.net/r/4956961/] I get to shout 'what is wrong with you people?!'

Heh. Some people have such low standards.

Sort of. All of it has been OC in no set universe, except for one thing in a generic D&D verse.

Believe it or not I create fan fiction every time I listen to a perticular song. Whenever I listen to a song I like enough I try and envision a story that goes with it from a book or movie, tv show whatever. An example would be when I listen to "I'm still here" by Johnny Rzeznik I envision a story of the Jedi Exile from Knights of the Old Republic 2.

The lyrics really match with the Exile's story and thoughts so I envision him coming to terms with his past and experiencing revelations as well as fighting numerous enemies to match the music.

Actually I'm not sure if that counts. I'm certainly not writing fan fiction but I'm imagining how I'd make it go.
Something like that happens when I listen to certain things. Some songs are just perfect for AMVs.

Well... I almost did a couple of times... but I rarely ever get past the idea. See, that would be effort without much gratification, as they're not your characters to toy with.

I'm sure I have. Actually, now that I think about it, I can remember a few stories I wrote that took place in the CoH verse, but I never did anything with them.

I've written quite a few stories though, where the intent was for it to be fan-fic, but do to character limitations or not being able to be faithful to what I think the character is, I usually end up Watchmening it and making characters and locales with similar attributes but different names and personalities then the archetypes that inspire them.

I think fan-fic is great for developing your prose and writing technique. I don't agree with the stigma that seems to be attached to it.

I once tried to adapt a D&D campaign into a novella.
I also started an Eye of Argon [http://www-users.cs.york.ac.uk/~susan/sf/eyeargon/eyeargon.htm] fanfic-type thingy, but I just couldn't make it worse.

Gave it a shot, I always have (well I think) decent ideas but i just get bored putting in description. I think I could make a decent film where the background can just be seen
