Yes I have. Short stories actually. Even my overwhelming hate for blizzard I wrote some stuff about StarCraft. And this other fictional universe I made up. I can't write 40K though. I can't write SpaceMarines because they're uber-religious and have certain laws. See the picture?

Yes, and I'm rather pleased with it. [http://www.fanfiction.net/~mshcherbatskaya]

EDIT: People who think that fanfiction is somehow more crap than any other form of amateur fiction really need to spend more time on Fictionpress.com. It's all equally crap, and a huge portion of "original fiction" is, when you look at the characters and plots, anything but original. At least fanfic cops to the fact that its appropriating outside sources, rather than boosting everything and just filing the serial numbers off of it.

And people who think that a good fanfic writer should just switch off to original fic are missing the point. Many of them DO write original fic, and many of them are excellent at that as well. The point of fanfic is the interaction between the fanwriter and the source material and the other fans and fanwriters. For the majority of fanwriters, fanfic is a social activity.

EDIT 2: One of my favorite things about fanfic is fic written on a challenge or a dare. If I know the fandom, I can find a way to write just about anything, and crackfic challenges are double the fun.

Tried writing a bit of golden axe fan fic (mostly focuing on OCs, with the games' characters only breifly mentioned), to go with the GA d+d rules I was working on.

The closest I've come was some crap with a bunch of video game characters I wrote when I had to write something in 7th grade English. It was slapped together and no good at all, but it was made over the course of at most 10 minutes so what can I expect?

Other than yaoi (and that's just because I'm a straight male), I don't really get all the hate for fanfiction.

I've written a few, but I haven't posted them any where. I usually just do them so I could work a little bit on character creation and development along with trying to have events and outcomes be both believable (in that universe, at least) yet exciting.

I've become so obsessed with the idea of writing a Scarecrow story that I made this image in Microsoft Paint:

But I was also reminded of an old idea I had for a Star Wars fan fiction. It had to do with a Jedi in the times of the Old Republic being infected with a force-sensitive plant parasite thing, and he gets put into stasis until after the death of Palpatine.

Essentially, it was all about the idea of a Old Republic Jedi meeting some of the New Republic Jedi, and what would happen because of it. I never really developed the idea or storyline, but it was a fun thing to imagine at times.

I've never read good fan-fiction, I don't have much desire to write any of it.
You should check out the Heroes of Arcadia series, it's one of the most successful fanfiction series of the net.

I technically wrote a Pokemon fanfic in 4th grade. It was horrible and I knew it. I also considered writing a Naruto one a while back, but I suck at writing so I scratched the idea.
