That's where I lost interest. I pushed through the rest of the game, but I wasn't having nearly as much fun as it was.

To the ones saying "You are never the only one":

Obviously he is exaggerating. Do you really think he believes that out of the 7 billion people in the world, HE is the only one that doesn't like the game? Of course not. He is exaggerating because the amount of people that he have seen who liked it vastly outnumber the amount of people who don't.

OT: I loved the game, but that could be because I wasn't exposed to all the hype. If I had researched the hell out of the game like I do for most, it probably wouldn't have reached my expectations and I would have thought it was an alright game, but not as good as I think it is now.

I'm not going to argue how little sense it makes that you consider the same things to be pros and cons. You could say "i just don't like it" and that's a reason really.

Okay maybe you didn't like the ending but here's a thing it's called spoilers. They're done likes this
{spoiler=I'm about to give away the ending} The game totally ends like this {/spoiler}

except don't use } { style brackets use ] [ style brackets.

It was one of the more frustrating games I've played this year. Some bits were great, and the atmosphere was exactly what I'd expect out of a Western. But some of those missions were exceptionally dull. Particularly the gatling gun parts. They were nice, but just far too long.

The pacing was too slow over all, and the story a little disappointing in places. And they really should have reigned in the GTA style for some more Western flavour.

And the third act's plot was terribly weak. I don't really like the 'Government are dicks' plot device. It was a little too forced, especially at the end.

I really wish they'd expand more on the Dutch back story, but I guess that was in Red Dead Revolver, or maybe saved for DLC.

It's pretty good.

The story, Marston, and the ending in particular are all overrated though.

It gets so much praise but I really hate it. I'll weigh up the pros and cons.

PROS -
- It was a little fun I guess.
- The game world is beautiful.
- The ending was incredible.
- The characters seemed human.

CONS -
- Most of the time I'm playing it and when I'm not playing it I don't want to touch it with a 10ft pole.
- Glitches and bugs.
- While the characters were pretty fleshed out and human, that doesn't mean they aren't unlikeable pricks.
- This may be a misunderstanding but the ending made no sense, why did the army come after him? He did what he was told to do.
- I usually like travel time such as in Just Cause 2 but the travel in this game was excruciating.
- It might be different if I played Red Dead Revolver but I really couldn't give two shits about John Marston.
Pay attention to the speech and dont skip cut-scenes. If you Had payed attention to the goverments men, they killed marston as one of the men wanted to take all of the glory and wanted john dead as he HAD commit previous crimes aswell (as i so do believe as i haven't revised the campaign much as my memory is horrendous

It is pretty damn annoying that people don't get what a figure of speech is. This is just one of the favored things to nitpick about around here.

Yes. You are the only one out of the millions who bought the game that disliked it.

OT: I love it, but I can see how people might find it tedious.

I thought that once you got to Mexico you would start finding wild bears. I was mistaken...I was really looking forward to killing a bear with a side-arm. Interest waned...

No, you aren't the only one. No matter how you decide to end your sentence, you are never the only one who is/does anything. I loved Red Dead Redemption and so did a lot of people, but you're several months too late for this thread to have any discussion value.

Thank you for explaining how to use spoiler brackets. More people should be like you, instead of just bitching you explain.

I liked the ending in a way but.

I like the way they did John's death, the sad music in the background with his last raspy breaths. The thing I didn't like was that in my mind nothing was explained, though I was extremely bored and half asleep most of the time I played it so that's probably why.

It's a game you play it, not poke it with a stick.

- Glitches and bugs.
Shoot me a flare when you find a game with none.

- While the characters were pretty fleshed out and human, that doesn't mean they aren't unlikeable pricks.
Welcome to the human race, most of it is unlikeable pricks.

- This may be a misunderstanding but the ending made no sense, why did the army come after him? He did what he was told to do.
It's called the double cross. Letting mass murderers go even if they did your dirty work for you is frowned on in the eyes of the law.

- I usually like travel time such as in Just Cause 2 but the travel in this game was excruciating.
Fast travel from beds or camps. You can get close enough to almost anywhere to lower travel time, but if it was insta warp you'd miss the random encounters.

- It might be different if I played Red Dead Revolver but I really couldn't give two shits about John Marston.
No I'd say it wouldn't help, when someone is dead set on not enjoying something they just don't.

1) I never took that into consideration, I really need to think this stuff out fully.

2) Fast travel always seemed more of a pain, having to set up camp, have the screen fade to black, select your destination, watch boring animations, sit through a long friggin' loading screen. At least through manual travel you could look at some scenery.

3) I've also heard Revolver has no ties to Redemption, so why did they bother making John a character you can relate to? He has no fleshed out story.

Thank you for explaining and not bitching.

Yes. Yes you are.

I mean, I've never played the game, but I still love it, just so your opinion can be completely unique.

I agree the travel time was a pain in the ass, but it did add to the real world feel of the game. The ending did make sense by the way. The federal agents did break their promise, but they needed to take care of every loose end regarding the gangsters (whether active or not) in that region. Keep in mind it was all martial law back then. There was no impartial system. Besides, Marston's death was avenged anyway.
