Well, musically it's okay, but I don't understand the appeal of vocalists who sound whiny and prepubescent one moment and like they're gargling razor blades the next. It's not absolutely god-awful, but when I hear stuff like this I sigh and wish I was listening to a capable singer like Neil Fallon or Peter Hayes.

I will admit to liking one song by Atreyu, who are guilty of this kind of nonsense 95% of the time, but only because they avoid the whiny/screamy combo for the most part, and the excellent rhythm makes up for the little there is.

I really hate Atreyu now. Especially that song. They were my favorite band before they came out with Lead Sails Paper Anchor. Fucking sellouts man.

Are they now. I profess to have absolutely no knowledge of the subject; musically I tend to stick with acoustic-heavy hard rock, British electronica, and Scandinavian folk metal, so I have absolutely no way to gauge a sellout in the hardcore genre.

Unless, of course, that was sarcasm and you were ironically pretending to be a hipster, which is something of a logic bomb. In which case: Yeah, bro, I agree, I saw them before they made any money at all.

Every band who makes that genre of music, is making it specifically for your entertainment only. When you die, the sky will echo with the anguish of many bands who rely on you (and only you) for income and support. Bereft of their only fan, they will have no choice but to take their own lives, hoping that they can entertain you with their music in whatever afterlife there is.

I don't really like talking about music, because it's all just opinion. This band is good, that song sucks, are all opinions. The only sturdy argument is the presence of musical talent in an artist, as in, playing their instrument (or singing) better than others, which can actually be measured in a way. But whether a band or genre is 'good' or 'bad' is really just opinion. As for the song the OP posted, meh, i have different musical tastes, as do most people.

...Huh. To my ear, the differences are incremental at best. Same grating, screeching lyrics and crazy energetic guitar (the latter not necessarily a bad thing). Not quite sure how you could like that and have a problem with Lead Sails, but I kind of dislike them on principle, so I will defer to your expertise.

Spoiler: I, on the other hand, prefer actual metal.

I'm not going to argue Attack Attack's quality - that was enjoyable the first time and not so much the second - I will argue the difference in sound.

How? The only similarity is screaming.

Attack attack are slightly more agressive, other than that, they both have the same dodgy pop choruses that belong in in you me at six and sound very similar, in fact at a stretch you could say they were the same band, the lighter one being their later work and the Attack attack song being their on first album.

To say the only similarity is the screaming actually confuses me...in that I have no idea how you don't think they sound similar. In fact I think attack attack have worse choruses than the other band. I even went and listened to other Attack Attack songs to check what they sound like in general.
