Well, musically it's okay, but I don't understand the appeal of vocalists who sound whiny and prepubescent one moment and like they're gargling razor blades the next. It's not absolutely god-awful, but when I hear stuff like this I sigh and wish I was listening to a capable singer like Neil Fallon or Peter Hayes.

I will admit to liking one song by Atreyu, who are guilty of this kind of nonsense 95% of the time, but only because they avoid the whiny/screamy combo for the most part, and the excellent rhythm makes up for the little there is.
I really hate Atreyu now. Especially that song. They were my favorite band before they came out with Lead Sails Paper Anchor. Fucking sellouts man.
Are they now. I profess to have absolutely no knowledge of the subject; musically I tend to stick with acoustic-heavy hard rock, British electronica, and Scandinavian folk metal, so I have absolutely no way to gauge a sellout in the hardcore genre.

Unless, of course, that was sarcasm and you were ironically pretending to be a hipster, which is something of a logic bomb. In which case: Yeah, bro, I agree, I saw them before they made any money at all.

The instrumentals were okay for about 18 seconds I guess, but the singer was, how can I put this nicely, really not good.
And no, you are NEVER THE ONLY ONE.

I used to be kind of emo back in like 9th grade...I still have an appreciation for some of that style of music. I actually like that song, they remind me of a lot of shows I went to in High School

Yeah they are sell outs, they signed to a major label and changed their sound.
This is the Atreyu I know and love:

Yes. You're the only person in the world who likes that kind of music.

Every band who makes that genre of music, is making it specifically for your entertainment only. When you die, the sky will echo with the anguish of many bands who rely on you (and only you) for income and support. Bereft of their only fan, they will have no choice but to take their own lives, hoping that they can entertain you with their music in whatever afterlife there is.
you made my day.

OT: No. There's no possible way in a world with going on (if not over) 7 BILLION people that you're the only one who likesthat music, especially since I'm going to assume that album has sold SOMETHING.

Anyway, that pretty boy has no business in metal, especially with that pop intro and chorus.

It was okay, until the screaming started, then it dropped to meh. Screaming just ain't my thing, I know quite a few people in real life who like it though, so clearly you aren't the only one.

I like it, but it's not the best. And remember the golden rule. You're never the only one for anything.

What genre is it? Emocore? Something mixed with the suffix -core, I would imagine. If you can, tell me. I'm not good with specific genres.

And no, I don't like it. Sorry.

I don't really like talking about music, because it's all just opinion. This band is good, that song sucks, are all opinions. The only sturdy argument is the presence of musical talent in an artist, as in, playing their instrument (or singing) better than others, which can actually be measured in a way. But whether a band or genre is 'good' or 'bad' is really just opinion. As for the song the OP posted, meh, i have different musical tastes, as do most people.

I listen this type of music...You're right though, not the best example. I like the Punk, Emo, Alternative and Hardcore stuff.

It just sounds the same as every other band in that genre, gets, well boring!

This is what I enjoy:

The Wrote and The Writ by Johnny Flynn, in my opinion it is perfect.

...Huh. To my ear, the differences are incremental at best. Same grating, screeching lyrics and crazy energetic guitar (the latter not necessarily a bad thing). Not quite sure how you could like that and have a problem with Lead Sails, but I kind of dislike them on principle, so I will defer to your expertise.

The clean vox are just so plain. It saps any possible energy from the song.

it's meh. It sounds like every punk band from the post-grunge era and beyond.

What the hell happened to punk?

Are you in high school? There should be dozens of kids that love screamo there these days.

Personally, it's awful. Not because it maketh me sad. It really doesn't make me sad at all. It's just awful music because of all the screeching and guttural bullshit disguised as a vocal part.

They look and sound almost exactly like Attack Attack aka Crabcore. If that's your thing, then yay for you...

I'm not going to argue Attack Attack's quality - that was enjoyable the first time and not so much the second - I will argue the difference in sound.

Really, you think this:

sounds like this:

How? The only similarity is screaming.
Attack attack are slightly more agressive, other than that, they both have the same dodgy pop choruses that belong in in you me at six and sound very similar, in fact at a stretch you could say they were the same band, the lighter one being their later work and the Attack attack song being their on first album.

To say the only similarity is the screaming actually confuses me...in that I have no idea how you don't think they sound similar. In fact I think attack attack have worse choruses than the other band. I even went and listened to other Attack Attack songs to check what they sound like in general.
