For some reason everyone seems to think Mass Effect is fantastic.
I on the other hand find it too repetitive and lacking any sort of actual action.
At the moment i am lost in C-Sec trying to find some guy, however the game gives no hint as how to find said guy and after about two days of searching i grew bored and sold the game.
So i ask you, what do you see in this game and is there anyone out there that agrees with me?

Edit: Why are people getting so defensive and angry? It's an oppinion, get used to it! Me disliking this game is my oppinion so just accept it!

I feel your pain. I love Mass Effect, but I had to search for a while for someone else who didn't like Fallout3.

Edit: And Halo. (2 was okay, 1 was boring and 3 lost the plot)

Yes, you are the only person in the entire world who dislikes it, every living person has a copy except you.

I have never played it myself.

You're not the ONLY person who doesn't like it...

But you're all quite retarded, that's for sure.

I don't like Fallout 3 either.
OT: Some games just aren't for you, that's why I'm always sceptical about reviews.
Hype is a bad thing for consumers. If every one likes the game and you try it out after them, you are probably going to be dissapointed.

Well, maybe. Mass Effect recieved overwhelmingly positive reviews from almost every critic. It's an amazing game and all, but it may not be for everyone. Some may be turned off at the sheer amount of dialogue, while others may dislike small glitches and imbalance issues with the combat. Ultimately, it's up to each individual player to decide whether or not they like a specific game. Don't let professional reviewers make up your mind that often. If you don't like a specific game, then that's fine- but if it's extremely popular, don't expect to find many 'brothers in arms', as it were.

I found it fun, and none of the quests really gave me a hard time. I especially enjoyed taking down an armature with my Soldier on Insanity (whatever the hardest difficulty is) after sending my party to hide behind a rock.

Actually i haven't played it, but I will not attempt to.
Let me explain before cutting my head off...
I played both KotOR games and found them pretty entertaining BUT in second one I was skipping quests or forcing through them by killing NPC - becouse I was sick of dialogs, TOO MUCH FU***ING DIALOGS!!! gaming is no longer based on text boxes, but BioWare seems to be unconcious of that. Yahtzee said (as well as my friend who also played the game) that there is too much talking, more in both KotOR games? if so, I will not even borrow it just to check it.

I would say you're in the minority on this website in not liking it but not the only one. I'm a big fan of Mass Effect but I can empathise with you and others not liking some bits of it. If those aren't just irritating but game ruining-ly (is that a word? who knows?) annoying then I can understand your frustation. The same can be said for me and Fallout 3. Some of the things in the game bug the hell out of me while it seems most (no basis in facts) enjoy them or don't care.

I have dispatched an assassination squad to handle your obviously deviant behaviour...

Then they'll have to come back for me because I too could not get into Mass Effect.

I found that the whole experience for me felt rather encyclopedic, like the entire game and all its characters were designed around the concept of teaching you about the world. I got turned off by the sheer amount of dialogue that seemed to involve a lot more exposition and a lot less actual character.

Ignoring that, the game itself felt rather repetitive, with the greater percentage of the experience centered around completing side quests and exploring new worlds and locations, all of which were uninteresting clones of one another. The planets were bland landscapes with barely an interesting feature, and most locations shared the same basic architecture with only different arrangement placables and enemies.

I found that those two factors, particularly the latter, prevented me from enjoying what could have otherwise been a pretty good game.

In my opinion, Mass Effect suffers from the syndrome of trying to be too big, spreading its resources thin rather than embracing its limitations. I remember visiting a few planets, same like every other planet on the surface, but in the sky I saw some interesting and visually compelling phenomena, and sometimes I thought to myself how better it may have been if they ignored the other 20 nondescript planets put more character and refinement into THESE planets.

I didn't like Mass Effect that much...

The action parts felt boring after the first one, the story was boring as well, most of the characters made me want to strangle puppies and the only good character got killed by another member of my team... And then I couldn't kill her!? "Choice" my ass.

Also, I only used the shotguns as weapons along with some crazy super-blast attack of doom spell. It destroyed everything... EVERYTHING!

I feel you.
My copy's been sitting there, neglected.
It is great at eating up time, but other than beautiful surroundings and graphics, there isn't any feeling of my time being well-spent.

You can allow her to die, actually.

On topic: I really love ME, however, I understand where you're coming from. There is a lot of dialouge and searching, etc, but once you know where to go, and get the hang of everything, you can really get into the flow of the game.

Hopefully ME2 will sort out those issues.
