This is like every "crazy hippie protest" caricature had a child and smoked and drank during the pregnancy. Relatively harmless subject? Check. Crying "freedom of speech"? Check. Unsolicited attack on capitalism? Check. Rampant doomsaying? Double-check. Historical quote put in a ludicrously out-of-place context? Check. Geez, might as well claim you're from Berkeley and extol the virtues of marijuana. And to actually answer your question, no, I do not believe an entire nation can go down the tubes because a lone protester was kicked off of private property for presumably harassing paying customers.
your a dick

In short:

Society's a joke, and the human being--especially the American human-- is a farce. All seven deadly sins are commonplace, and nobody's willing to stop living the dream long enough to make sure it's theirs. Burn it all down, start again, and hope that form follows function. Next.

Obama and his administration are leading us down the absolute wrong path, no question about it. More debt has been added to the deficit(via these "bailouts" and "Stimulus programs") since he took office than any other president and little to no good has come off it. And then theres the BP oil spill, ooooohh Im feel a rant coming on. Its fault of Obama that the spill even happened, regulations and laws passed by his people in the house and senate banned drilling in more shallow waters and then they failed to regulate and inspect the rig that failed and look at this shit 2 months into this clusterfuck and very little has actually been done by Obama.(except I don't know blame Bush, that seems to be his favorite tactic as of late doesn't it) The Dutch(among other foreign nations) were offering to send assistance and aid but Obama turned them away what kinda moronic move is that. *breaths deep and ends rant*

and FYI Im voting Conservative this november and doing my part to overturn the liberal majority and leave him sitting in helplessly with no way of getting his horrid legislation passed. Thank you and good night.

I read the wall o text, I understand where you're coming from (I think) and I agree (I think)

The act of petitioning is indeed a noble one, but you should be rallying troops and people who care for real. A petition on the internet won't really solve anything.

But that's not what this post was about was it? I'm not entirely sure what was posted, I think I get it for the most part...

Well since this is the off topic section.

Who here loves Pie?

I do, it is quite tasty and comes in a variety of flavors and styles.
Pie tastes good but I enjoy the sugary delights of cake more than pie.

OT:It's not going to change (for the better) because most people in the world abhor change.

Try English apathy, turns out it's only the bigots who can be bothered to vote.

Our government is now called "ConDem", which phonetically is "Condemn". We're a CondemnNation, or Condemnation. This is because of English apathy.
ConDem?
Con Them.
Makes sense to me, without making sense at all.

OT: I remember a time when people didn't give a fuck and lived their lives.
If it happens it happens. People need to understand that you can't change the system, and should get used it.

Didn't even read the first post (and for that I apologize) and I can heartily say, with just right blend of humor and serious-ness that...

WE'RE ALL FUCKED!

So er, you thought the best place to air your views on political apathy was a gaming website? Well, I admire your optimism, eye of the storm and all that...

Wrong section but whatever...

OT: Apathy is covered as a freedom. Probably. We can't force people to give a shit or act like they do.
Should we? No.

The middle class is gone.
Everyone from America is a "college educated" moron who knows nothing of the real world.
We're being overun by illegal immigrants.
People care more about idealistic ideas than survival.

For some reason our OIL is still spilling...
Yeah, we're screwed.

Never! Cake is better than pie! Not by much; pie is delicious. But cake still wins.

its quite simple. the western world is slowly circling the drain. we are in the same spot as the last days of rome. decadance and partying like drunken fratboys. we "The People" either stand up and stop this or we are in for a hell of a show when it all finally kicks off.

Ugh. Political stuff like this makes me either want total anarchy or totalitarianism. So I try not to get too worked up about it.

Oh and OP, calm down abit. I understand you're concerned with the state that the US is in right now (welcome to the entire history of the US), but you don't need to act like a dick when people post differing opinions from you. Weren't you just talking about how you have Freedom of Speech? Well so do they, it's just that they also have Freedom of Not Giving a Shit. So don't go bashing them if they don't enthusiasticly take up your banner and march on Washington with you. Besides alot of people here aren't even from the US so they just don't care as much as you.
