This is like every "crazy hippie protest" caricature had a child and smoked and drank during the pregnancy. Relatively harmless subject? Check. Crying "freedom of speech"? Check. Unsolicited attack on capitalism? Check. Rampant doomsaying? Double-check. Historical quote put in a ludicrously out-of-place context? Check. Geez, might as well claim you're from Berkeley and extol the virtues of marijuana. And to actually answer your question, no, I do not believe an entire nation can go down the tubes because a lone protester was kicked off of private property for presumably harassing paying customers.
wow dude. So sorry I have a problem and am not staying silent about it. You've got a sick perspective. You disgust me. i'd argue with you, but you're just to much of an asshole to argue with. Hope you're little hate speech made you feel better about your own miserable little life. I didn't say our nation was going down the tubes I said we need a place as the people to assemble. Don't know if you've noticed but "Time for "we the people" to take action. Obama has nothing to do with it" is ahead, so clearly I'm not alone on this one.

I'm a petitioner in America; trying to put an issue on the ballot in Ohio. Basically- Factory farms should be fined if we have another dog food recall (tainted dog food killed some of our pets recently in our state, much like many of the products Wall-Mart has to offer). People might as well assume my skin is made of acid before they give me the time of day. If it's not a constant barrage of no's, it's people kicking me off of private property, stating "it's not ok with corporate to solicit" to which I reply- "Freedom of religion, speech, the press, assembly, and petition". The 1st amendment grants me the right to petition, yet where the people assemble is now considered private property (in the facility of any business or practice thereof). I've even been kicked off a BMV lot, which last time I checked was government property, argo I pay taxes for such a place to operate. I'm not going to deny my own bias when I say Capitalism is failing! It's a system built to spill. Before we place blame on anyone, shall we rebel for our own sake? Political science is a major; a study you must practice to understand. Do we the people really know what's going on anymore? No! So we let the rest of the world peg us for ignoramuses. Thomas Jefferson once wrote "Never spend your money before you have it", which has clearly been done by people you and I shall never know and now we pay the price. Like the generation before us who violently opposed the war in Vietnam (which this war on terrorism has just surpassed in time committed) , we should protest if we feel the need to be! The time to collect ourselves (republican or democrat) has risen. Apathy is not acceptable. We need to speak up! My name is Chris Gerrard, and I'm ready to challenge the powers that be. We can make a solution happen, opposed to waiting for it by people who do not represent us as Americans!
Wall of text crits you for 5000 characters with no paragraphs or spacing.
You die.

As far as people's political apathy: Some people have more important shit to deal with than dog food.

Haven't you given up yet? Stupidity is universal. Recently my state supreme court okayed the yanking of drivers licenses of people caught drinking underage REGARDLESS of the offense's connection to driving. They said, "People that drink illegally may end up driving drunk" so that the punishment is okay.

...
...
...
THATS THE SAME AS SAYING PEOPLE THAT DRINK LEGALLY MAY END UP DRIVING DRUNK!

Now I might as well go DUI instead of taking a bus/taxi/walk/get a ride.

I'm a self-admitted anarchist, so in theory I think I agree with what you're saying. However, I'm an anarcho-pacifist, and too many of the specifics of your little rant smack to me of the same tired tropes that cause anarchists everywhere to get a bad rap: fight the power, down with the man, liberty through any means possible. Yawn. Read some Kropotkin or Bakunin before you try to espouse a pseudo-anarchistic belief.

Also, your ability to argue cogently is faulty, and your responses to valid criticisms of your presentation and content have been obnoxious to say the least. Too bad, really...you actually had a potentially receptive audience in me, until you managed to be incredibly childish about it.

Well, if you were pitching your point to the general populace as coherently as you tried to here, then I'm not surprised people are telling you to get lost; if you're accepting divergent opinions as well as you are here, then I'm not surprised at all that you're getting kicked out of place because it makes you seem like one of two things:
1. A raging lunatic.
2. A child throwing a tantrum.

I voted for "we the people" optinion because I believe that the goverement is not a hirarchy to rule over us but a service that is empolyed by the people of this nation. Thats not to say the American people are the smartest no quite the contary so there are times when our elected officals are to step in a deal with a problem as in the case with prop 8 marriage shouldn't be a morale dillima no instead it is a right for all people and the goverement's job is to protect those rights, prop 8 shouldn't have been the peoples choice because the loud vocal religous majority should never have a say in what morals a very mix culure should have.

It is in our constitsion to keep religion out of goverement and vice versa. As for the peoples jobs its up to them to restrict the goverement or allow it when it comes to issues that are not already stated in the constitsion. Sadly this is not the case anymore the people are voting on things the goverment should be handling and the goverment is doing things the people should have a say in.
