Apart from being the self proclaimed 'World Police', (seriously, America, nobody is out to get you, you've never been invaded, stop being so fucking paranoid) I'm sure there are plenty of lovely people. Although their ignorance does seem to shine through sometimes...

I'm sure those responses were cherry picked, but damn.

So, the people are fine, but I'm not really fond of how hypocritical your government is (I especially hate the lack of social healthcare).

As an American, I dislike both the people and the system. However, we're a lot better than some other countries.

Some Americans are ignorant but that's true of any country. I find it hard to dislike a people as a whole because that's extremely narrow minded. So I'm going with Like the People dislike the system. Because the system is incredibly broken.

I like people in general, but I do indeed dislike the American system. Unfortunately, this will in turn means I will end up disliking a fair share of American people even when I really don't want to become the stereotype 'American-hating Brit'.
Did not realize there was a stereotype of the American hating Brit. Then again my uncle in law, who I view as a blood relative, is British, so I have had nothing but positive experiences with them.
Not really "American-hating Brit"; more like "American-hating European". And yeah, that stereotype exists. It isn't just a stereotype, either, as evidenced by how many people on this very thread seem to despise America for no other reason than that they feel like they are supposed to.

I'm not going to let it get me down, though.

okay you've got me : IF YOU'RE NOT A DEMOCRACY, why do you insist on bringing democracy to other nations?

[sub]the caps thing was cuz most people seem to misunderstand me a lot so I thought "heck make clear what you're on about"[/sub]
You got me m8. Personally, I couldn't tell you why. I don't insist on it. I have yet to meet another American who DID insist that we go to other places and tell them how to run their shit. I would prefer we didn't. Let everyone else have the system that they are willing to live with.

*Edited to add my personal guess. Democracy is an easier sound bite than Constitutional Republic.

I've never met an american who was not Either religically or historically Ignorant as fuck
Never met one that wasn't patriotic as fuck
Never met one that could tell me where either my country of origin or country where I'm living were on a map, bar tell me at all (Yeah sure Iceland-Ireland what's the difference, and Amsterdam is a country right ofcourse it is)

oh and I've never met one not even on this forum who could win a discussion based on facts, but that might be due to the system teaching you nothing but gibberish (Religion/History/Guns/Sports/War discussions that is)

Actually Even the koreans I've met in life were more accurate in these things

Sorry I hate the system I hate most of the people there's good people there too I'm of the sincere belief there's some proper guys of you out there

PS : IQ goes like this
You're American -10 points
You're white -1
You're American white and christian -50 points

"Ignorance is bliss" should be the new american motto
Just wanted to point out that the Intelligence Quotient has nothing to do with intelligence. Insulting the population of an entire country is fun! Generalizations based on anecdotal evidence, ftw!

I didn't read them all but it looks like a lot of people seem to think there is a major proportion of Americans that are crazy. To those people i would say that there are as many crazy people in America as there are terrorists in the middle-east. It is the theory of the loud minority where a group of people seem larger than they really are because they make so much news. And anyway the person most responsible for the worst parts of American society is actually Australian if that matters.

thank you for proving one of my earlier points I believe you have helped the anti American side take a big leap towards the bottom congratulations
May I point out that I've come across about say 100's of americans in life and I can only base my fact on them, the news and social media?

You allready empower my arbitrary point by trying to pull my leg without even putting an argumentation to your post

the PS thing was a joke btw

and I never said ALL before you throw that bucket at my head , why am I saying that in advance cause yes I'm biased and I expect you to throw that into your next quote immediately , you read my post so you must understand but I get the feeling here you only skimmed it and read the PS part and just went on with your own plummet down the hole of this discussion

TL:DR

You just fell down yourself
it doesn't matter that you did not say all, very few people say ALL for anything but you did say most and with your stated limited experience went on an anti American rant thus proving my earlier point. why would I waste my time breaking down why what you were saying was a dumb sweeping generalization where it should be obvious to anyone whose following this discussion.
It's not a sweeping generalization because meeting people as a foreigner would be the same as taking a poll, say I met a 1000 americans in my life and based my opinion on that it would be the same as talking to 200 people in a north east 200 in a north west 200 in a south east 200 in a south west town and 200 in washington and basing my opinions on that

or are you saying the way that all "public opinion" polls are done is ridiculously biased too?
THEY ARE. The way the questions are phrased could lead to a bias, who actually answers produces a bias, the way they collected their sample has a bias, etc.
