that would include my bank account, school account, social security number so the question is would you sell your identity for 2.5 million dollars
Those aren't really property, you don't legally own them. IIRC it's the same with passports.

As long as this was a case of "everything that is legally yours to sell", which is the impression I get from the OP, then yes. Although I'm definitely nuking my hard drive first.

My net worth is waaaaaaaay lower than 2.5 million. I guess I would tell my friends or something to get me an okay pair of clothes to give to me after I sell you all my stuff, then go out and rebuy my life.

Hell yes, I could easily replace everything I own and have 95% of the money left over.

Um... I'm sure I'm worth around $50k right now. Hell yeah. I'll be able to travel for the rest of my life off of the interest in my savings alone.

i place little sentimental value in anything besides my computer, so sure! but only if it is untaxable and will be transferred immediately.

Yes. Hell, every time I move I throw out most of what I own anyhow because I care so little about it that I find it not worth the hassle to move. Given that the offer is significantly greater than the inherent value of anything most people perusing this site have, it seems like a sucker move.

If you upped the stakes such that "everything I own" became "everything but your identity and job", then it would be a hard call as I'd be asking if I valued my life at less than 2.5 million dollars.

Yes. Without second thoughts. If it wasn't -15 C outside I wouldn't even mind throwing the clothes in on the spot if it was required.

2.5 mil $ buys a lot of confidence.

Well, congratulations, you just overpaid $2.49M for a computer, a few thousand in photographic equipment, some books, and a bunch of clothes - and I'm definitely not the expensive fashion kind of guy.

for me, definitely not, a lot of my stuff has sentimental value or is irreplacable, besides if i lost my car and licence i'd lose my job, if i had to hand over my bank account i'd have nowhere to cash that $2.5m

captcha: path less taken... according to the poll it sure is captcha.

Absolutely.

I moved out of my parent's house about 2.5 years ago. I brought with me: My car, my favourite clothes, movies, books, and video games. Since then, I've accumulated so much excess crap...I would LOVE to hit a $2.5 million reset button.

Yes, most definitely. Poor student, with not much crap at the moment. If he wants to buy my crap for that amount I'm making him sign a "no-backsies" agreement first.

Well, considering that I own very little... sure, why not? I live in my parents' house, my bank account has less than $800, and half of my clothes aren't mine, they're technically still military property. Sure, I'll lose my Ipod, my Vita with Persona 4 Golden (*sob*) and my cheap-ass phone, but it's only a slight inconvenience seeing as I now have 2.5 million to replace them.

All my stuff, which ALL has sentimental value (like that vest you had since forever, but is still fancy) or all my back ups of my thesis, hell, even highschool stuff? ALL my pictures of things I've done? ALL my books,
Maybe if I WANTED to have a second chance at life, but I don't, so I think I'll refuse.

Actually, while writing this, I'm getting second thoughts; 2.5 million is a LOT of money. Can't I just give all my stuff away to my girlfriend, and then just give the guy some scraps of my stuff? Then afterwards just move in with my girl :p

Well, without going into too many technicalities about what's mine and not, I'd say I don't actually PERSONALLY own anything with any considerable value. I guess I'd miss my hats and my pocket watch, but those can be replaced.

Heck, the things I'd miss the most would be my online accounts (does this one count? <.<) and my save files (several hundred hours invested? Like hell I'm going to do that again), oh, and my books. Not that any of them are old/out of print/rare/hard to find, but still. Just counting the ones I have in my room, that's between 50 and 100 at any given time. Fortunately, most books not in my room are technically not mine.
