On topic: I mostly watch it subbed. If the dub is really good or I'm with mates that don't usually watch anime then I watch it dubbed.
I wonder how many people here can actually speak Japanese...
I go with English/Dub first because I don't want to be reading during action scenes. Sure, I can do it, but I may miss a little something now and then. Next time I watch a series, I so it with subtitles to see which I like better.

japanese is a beautiful language, the american voice acters make all the characters aound like wimps/thugs/sluts plus its taught me loads of japanese!
Dubbed. I only have one eye, so it's hard enough for me to keep up with what's going on in the first place. If I have to read subtitles, I can barely read them fast enough to keep up, and I miss everything else.
I prefer subs to dubs but I will, on a rare occasion, watch dubs if they are decent. I can stand mostly the ones I grew up with, but more recent ones not so much.
The issue is that most of the shows I watch get either no dubs or are horribly butchered by the voice actors.

When i first watched death note it was dubbed and the show was funny at points but it was there that i was literally on the ground laughingrokkolpo said:
I think I actually did find that one acceptable, I'll have to check it out again when I get home but I still prefer any given show to be in the language it was intended. I've personally been thinking up of my own little creation and since its meant to concentrate on a realistic and multicultural environment, language is gonna be a huge focus, be it a matter of social class or actual nationality etc and if that were taken away from me by someone who didn't want to read, it would ruin both their experience of it and my own effort. I guess to a point I see dubbing as disrespectful to the makers (though it was authorized by them, I'm sure)Nazulu said:

Subbed the majority of the time. The voice actors they find for these things are freaking terrible and the language just tends to come out badly too. Plus theres just some words/phrases that sound alot better/ more dramatic in alot of scenes.
I orginally watched Bleach dubbed but changed quickly since it sounded off on many occassions, the voice actors weren't bad just the language change failed them
Also dubbed episodes come out much later than subbed episodes meaning dubbed fans tend to be a bit behind

Coming straight from the manga I can't stand the FMA series anime, it just pulls things out of nowhere - such as it being set in Germany and adding in a robot?Kurokami said:

If there's a dub, I'll take the dub. If the anime hasn't been dubbed yet or is not going to be, I'll watch subbed.
I'm not picky with voice acting at all, whether it be anime or games. As long as I like the characters in the first place, that's all I care about it.

Also, what robot? I can't even remember it, and I'm pretty sure it was established in an alternative germany in both. (alternative world based somewhat on germany anyway)
