Just something I'm curious about... I hear some of my friends say they can never remember what people look like, because they're a "name" person, and others say the opposite. Just wondering how it breaks down.

I'm personally a "face" person... Never can seem to remember a persons name (or anything, for that matter), but I can recognize people I met once, two years ago. Sometimes, I can't remember who someone on my friends list on the escapist is, because they changed their avatar. I'm looking at you, shapsters.

It always makes me think I'd do horrible if I was in some action movie.

Dramatic person in a hurry: "The third brick from the left, open it and type in 398127."
Me: "What?"
Them: "No time! Go! You have thirteen minutes before the bomb blows up!"
Me: "What?"

Anyway... Which are you? And why?

EDIT: Added a both option, and a neither option.

I can never remember what people look like if I haven't hung out with them properly for and had a conversation with them, always remember a name though.

I think i have to go with name person. Sometimes, when i try to think of someone, even people close to me, i may forget how they look like, but not their voice or name.

I can only remember someones face and name, if they speak to me twice during the day and say they're name,

and your name is now Urashima Keitaro.

I'm terrible with both! I'm actually quite notorious for it. People now automatically re-introduce themselves to me until they see the look of recognition in my eyes without them having to say anything.

I'm like a less severe Momento.

Most of the time, it would depend on how often I talk to the person or if I find them interesting...or really, if I care to remember them.

So either-or. depends on the situation and which way I choose to remember them.

There should be a Both option, since I remember faces really really good. And once I realize that I know the person I remember the name.

I'd say I'm both tbh. Once I've learnt someone's name, I'll remember them (I'd say forever but I can't really put that to the test) even if they don't remember me. The problem I sometimes encounter however is not knowing why I know someone. I was at a party a few months ago and a girl who's name I knew and who I recognised who also recognised me but couldn't remember my name came up and re-introduced herself. Neither of us could remember where we'd met or why we knew each other and she wasn't associated with the person who's party it was but came as someone elses date. Was quite a wierd experience and neither of us know why we know each other.

I remember names far better, call me the minority. But then I've always been far more literary than arty.

This too actually. Two of my best mates in primary school were identical twins (the teachers had trouble telling them apart and they had to wear badges with their names on). I recognised them by the slight differences in their voices whereas everyone else just struggled trying to see what looked different about them.
