Poll: Are you a good fanboy?

It's hard for me to say if I'm a fanboy. I am a HUGE fan of Valve, since they seem to be one of the only companies that puts good work into their games, listens to what the fans say, and have a great sense of humor to boot. Their games are practically the ONLY ones I've played now, mostly Team Fortress 2 (cry some more). I don't really take offense when people say Valve or one of their games suck, but I still try to find out why and try to change their opinion (if it seems possible =/). I also get a little bit obsessive over the games. I guess I could be filed under a fanatic than a fanboy

I even got the legendary edition and artwork controller (spartan version) as well as read the books. If someone says they don't like it, i can agree its their opinion. But when people mindlessly say that its crap and that my intelligence is questioned for liking it, i only state that they are just arrogant or ignorant and that they should basically state it as their opinion and not 'fact'.

There is no such thing as a good fanboy... No, no just kidding 
. But seriously now, i'm a die hard fan (or fanboy, though it's a fairly derogatory term) of several games, but yet i try not to have unquestioned praise of those games. For example, even though Deus Ex is my favourite game of all time, i'm more than willing to point out that the AI is utter tripe. Being a die hard fan is not so bad as long as someone is willing to distance themselves from a game and not be ignorant of it's potential flaws. Being a fan of something merely means that you enjoy it alot, however this can sometimes lead people to become very biased towards that game. That's the sort of fanboy i dislike.

Personally i consider my self to be a Final Fantasy fanboy and also a Wow Fanboy. I also believe that fanboys can be good in helping a company achieve higher reputation but if the fanboys are just trash talking other Gaming studios (or other type of Genre) it really serves no purpose.

Kind of. I have various obsessions that I dearly love and will defend to the death, but I won't insult someone if they dislike something I like or have a different obsession. Thinking someone else is stupid for a different way of thinking seems to sometimes come with the fanboy label, and I definitely don't go that far into fanboyism.

Generally I stick to logic in all my assessements, many people say I'm TOO logical. So while others will rave about how awesome or crappy something is, I'll just shrug and say "it's okay" because most everything in life is mediocre. That, and the fact that I grow bored with something too quickly, makes it pretty much impossible for me to even become a fanboy.
