Is being a fanboy A good Or Bad thing? Is being called a fanboy an insult?

It depends on your level. I LOVE Lord of the Rings. You can call me a fanboy. But I won't take a bullet just to prove a hater wrong like some people will.

I'd be considered a fanboy, but not a hateable one. I respect others views, and respect the flaws of that which I like.

For instance, I love Halo. I don't say it's the best made sci-fi story/game/whatever, but I enjoy it more than most other things.

Same goes for Star Wars, prequel trilogy included. I love all six movies, and laugh at the campiness of the prequel trilogy and still admit it's nowhere near as good as the originals.

I'm not the type to deny faults. That's foolishness, and is disgutingly common among gamers...

I believe that being a fanboy is a bad thing.

A fanboy (in my opinion) is someone who takes their liking of something too far and refuses to accept anyone else's opinion (they are basically the fundamentalists of gaming).

A fan is someone who enjoys something (and can even get very engaged in it) but isn't 'fanatical' and won't take it personally if someone has a differing opinion to their own.

Subtle difference but it has a large effect.

I'm a good fanboy. I don't hate on the competition, even the Wii.Sure I'll comment about thier faults and any issues I personally have about them, but I also do the same for my beloved PS3. Besides, just me knowing I'm right and everyone else is wrong is enough for me. I don't really care what you think.

Fanboy has been taken over as some kind of horrible label but it's really a good thing, But i agree the level of fanboyism that might conflict with pure logic is bad, But being a super fan aka Fanboy, is great!

Actualy adding an off-topic choice helps the poll since it gives an option for people who don't really care to still feel important. Personally I'm more for only two options of extreme where everyone has to make a single choice, but other options do have thier usefulness.

No honestly don't realize what you just said. You said that everything bad that happens on planet earth has happened because some dude said "360 ftw LOLZ". Also being a fan IS all about choice. So in a way, YOU are a fanboy.
