I have no clue what a hipster is but I have been told I dress like one. (I have no taste in fashion mind you.)

That just about answers you.
Well, whaddaya know, apparently I am, apart from the "dressing like a douche" part. Huh. I did not know that.

Just read a couple of definitions of hipsterims, and I don't think I am. I do tend to like indie music/films, but it wouldn't make any difference for me if they were popular.

As for the fashion sense and looks, definitely no.

someone said i was one once which was a bit worrying. i guess i tend to dress a little weirdly and all, and the college i was attenting was really... full of partying types. i think for some people who are considered hipsters it's actually just their way of life and how they dress (before the whole trend bullshit came along) but for others they latch on to the identity to fill the gaping holes in their own existence.

*Looks up the exact definition of Hipster*

Hmm, yep, I guess I am one. And I guess it kinda makes sense now? My friends have called me hipster every now and then.
I'm not gonna get into what exactly defines me as a hipster but yeah, I suppose I am one.

And you know what?

I'm actually okay with it. Actually, I don't think I care much if people consider me one or not but if I am, I don't mind. Doesn't sound too bad and in fact, it sounds interesting. You know, why would you want to be another sheep when you can be a...unicorn...yes...

Well, that was a horrible analogy but you get the idea.

yeap, and I'm happy. I got branded Hipster by my year because of the books I read, and the music I listen to.

Yeah, I've been told that I'm a bit of a hipster, and that article's kind of verified it. I don't really mind though. I am who I am, and categories are kind of silly, aren't they?

No, just...no.

I've met a few hipsters before and I can honestly say I'm not like them, and they confuse me.

I guess you could call me one by the type of music that I enjoy as well as what my political beliefs are. I don't however follow the common dress style thats attributed to hipsters except for my plaid shirts and converse.

You could consider me a hipster by my music, but most people (at least on here maybe) would agree that a lot of mainstream music is pretty boring anyway.

I don't hate it because it's mainstream, I hate it because mainstream music tends to be essentially the music equivalent of local-grocerystore-brand goods.

I try not to be, but when stuff like how Borderlands used Aint no rest for the wicked and suddenly EVERYONE was a fan of Cage the Elephant and their favorite song just so happened to be aint no rest, I went hipster quick.

The way I see it, the hipster guidelines are thus:

If you publicly admit that you probably are one, you're probably NOT one.
If you deny it, you will more than likely turn out to be one.

Myself, I acknowledge my hipsteriness and embrace it. I dunno how anyone else feels about this.

Nope.

Oh, I am quite full of myself, but I don't find myself actively participating in any sort of counter-culture.

Possibly.

I do enjoy many hipster-ish things like indie music, films and games, as well as occasionally wearing skinny jeans (although to be fair, my legs are really skinny) and trilbies. However I disagree with the idea of doing these things to become "above" people.

Hipsters are those people you see at your local coffee-shop who wear skinny-jeans(long), sandals, short-sleeved shirt, scarfs, and fake glasses. Oh, and they also like telling people "how things are" when they themselves have never done the research. And their basically like the goth kids who look exactly the same yet say they don't conform, just more flashy and more smug then them.

No. I have been called many things, smart-ass punk being the most frequent (especially said by my highschool teachers). This is how I am, I do what I wanna do, I act how I wanna act, and if anyone has a problem with it, Im gonna gut-check them, even if (and this is most of the time) when that person can beat me to a pulp.
