I have a question for you, when did we get married and why am I the wife?

Simple.
Look at us.

Compare my manly and muscular exterior in comparison to your weak dainty limbs. Could you see me in a wedding dress and think, "Mhmm that looks fine" rather than "Fire & Brimstone! What is that?"

Just suck it up and deal with it - it'll make this marriage easier for you.
T^T [small]Ok, but I don't like cross-dressing[/small] T^T
[sup][sup]Do I at least get to choose the cake?[/sup][/sup]
Nope.
You'll be lucky if I even let you choose the flowers. This is my wedding not our wedding.

They're all first drafts of ill thought out drivel, but, yes, I do carefully construct them most of the time. I try to keep to passable grammar and will go back and edit mistakes out with usually at least one pass-through. I find myself sticking to general opinion threads; I've been treating the Escapist like a video games related journal pretty much--it is kind of fun to go back once in a while to see how you thought in the past. Not much of a journal, I don't post my dark secrets and I sanitize everything I put out. But, yeah, I put a fair amount of care into my posts because I want to more clearly understand how I think; there's self-study going on here. Unremarkable self-study, but it's happening nonetheless. I tend to avoid posting jokes because I find it very difficult to craft something funny in text. I'm more of a visual gimmick and vocal delivery guy.

Examples: In the above post: 1) I changed but to put; 2) I changed oral to vocal; 3) I changed not very interesting to unremarkable--my sentences are always so long; 4) Corrected typos and spelling errors; 5) I reread the above post once before posting; 6) Added some clarifying words that likely weren't needed; 7) Changed adding to added in the previous point.

My tone tends to reflect the nature of the opening post most of the time.

It depends on the topic really.

I haven't been able to post at all lately though. I think I'm getting Internet withdrawal.

Also, no one has noticed my absence, which is quite upsetting. What if I had been sick?!
If it makes you feel better, I recognise your avatar.

Most of the time, yeah. Oh course, it all goes down to context, but I do tend to write longer most serious posts. However, I"m changing now to writing shorter, hopefully more funny/fun posts.

A given post will start off as a carefully crafted, well thought out argument with attention to spelling and grammar. It is then aged in a handmade oak barrel for a minimum of 3 years. Once the aging process is completed the post is lovingly wrapped in cynicism before being posted for general consumption.

To be honest, even though I have been here since '08, I rarely ever post unless I feel I should. I look through topics and do one of two things: 1. Bring up a new point or perspective that hasn't been considered. or 2. Find someone to argue with and go at it.

I usually put a lot of thought into my posts, though I have occasionally been purposely facetious for the hell of it (or if an argument has gone on too long).

I try to be serious, but everytime I do I get multiple people pissed.

So I just try to add things without including any opinion that could ever insult someone (I often write out full posts then delete them without posting), avoid serious threads, and post the occasional horrific attempt at humour.

You clearly don't otherwise you wouldn't have put those inane fucking "goofy" options. It wasn't funny the first time someone did it, why would it be funny now?

But for the most part, no, I just shoot off with the first thought that comes to my head. I tend not to dwell on said thoughts because, seriously, who am I trying to impress? I'd probably try harder if you guys set the bar higher. It's a shame that my "not trying" is your "mediocre". It really is.
Has anyone ever told you how modest you are?
Oh, look. The actual Daystar! In my absence there seems to have been in influx of little Daystar babies.

I noticed. In a totally non-creepy way of course.

OT: Depends on my mood, the topic and in the case of quoting, who I'm talking to. Overall I'm not a serious guy, I'm just sarcastic as hell.

There were a few relatively new users scattered around the forums yesterday who were using it. Definitely two, anyway.

Me? Eh...maybe. I can't say for sure, I seem to be going in waves. Sometimes I stick to clowning around, sometimes I go into srs bsns mode. I don't think I have said much of interest though. >_>

What's the point of a discussion board if you don't piss a few people off and start an argument? Letting off steam and making friends? Naaaaah.

This said on a discussion board, where half of the point is that the reader is also the contributor. If you find every thread posted to be trite and foolish, make one that isn't and attract those who you'd actually enjoy. Or continue being miserable, your choice.

Not really, If I was, far to much of my time would be going into spell checking my post do to the fact that I'm dyslexic (stupid brain and its "ability to read =/= ability to write")

I try to balance humorous posts with serious posts as best I can. Usually I look for someone to quote as opposed to making my own independent post late into a thread.
And that's why your my favorite "popular" poster ;)

OT i have a strong tendency to write TL DR posts and my attempts at humor on the net tend to fail big time, or i offend people so try to be as serious as possible.
