I tried being a vegetarian once... I almost died of starvation.
I couldn't survive as a vegetarian =P
I was a meat eater once, I almost died of a heart attack, now I'm not and the healthiest I have ever been.
No one can survive as a meat eater, they have 100% rate of death

note: No I am not a vegi, just pointing out how stupid your comment sounded LMAO
I'll remember to be more specific when you're around.

I don't eat too much meat. It's expensive because I only eat Free Range and Organic animals. Hey it encourages good farming practices and reduces the likelihood of me developing boobs. I have some friends (mostly women) who were vego (well pescetarian), but only know two who are still vego, and one of those is lapsing again because she is pregnant. Baby likes meat.

Converted a week and a bit ago, nicer than you think the feeling that nothing died to feed you.

Also, to vegetarians in the poll, do carnivores ever make it a bigger deal than you do? I had a friend repeat the phrase "Eat meat" to me over and over for an hour once.

No, I'm not. Why? Well, it's the usual "Why's it okay for animals to eat meat but not for me".

Not so much in real life; the internet's a crapshoot for anyone being slightly different, though.

I grew up a veggie (thats what you get for having a Buddhist mum!) but now eat all seafood and some meat - Chicken, maybe beef, pork (but only in bacon form), venison, pheasent. Thats it.
But any meat I do eat is organic.

The smell of lamb cooking makes me physically sick... Blergh.

I had my suspicions the second I saw it.
OT: Yeah I eat meat. But it tastes so damn nice! I hate it when people bring up slaughtered animals while I am enjoying my dinner.

Than go out forth and kill every carnivore on the planet.

We are omnivores. Either nature or God (Whichever you believe) designed us this way. Therefor, why feel bad?

But that's my own personal reasoning. Lets not side track the thread with an argument (besides, we're never going to change each others eating habits).
oh pleeease, human beings dont have a single weapon on their bodies so dont give me the nature crap, besides, i think its about 5000 years too late to turn around and ask nature to lend you an excuse

Actually, everything humanity does is still dictated by the nature of living organisms. We just do it better than anything (Or anyone, I guess, if your going to consider animals people).

And we don't have weapons in our bodies? The human mind is the greatest weapon on Earth. And like I said before, the human brain is a gift from a diet of meat. Why stop now if its given us this wonderful thing?

This is the attitude he was talking about :)

And no its not reason enough, killing animals for food is as natural as breathing, the fact that you live and take space on this planet means some animals are dead because of you. Ants, cockroaches, rats, the squirrel that could have lived in your house if it was an empty lot, someone's existence means the sacrifice of another, that my friend is part of life deal with it.
OR, alternatively, i could fight it by NOT eating animals, WEARING plastic sandals, cycling to college instead of taking the bus and grow some plants every now and again. my way is healthier, and theres less guilt. and as i once said, its a good 5000 years too late to turn back to nature for an excuse
