Poll: Are you angry at the escapist for canceling Unforgotten realms?

I don't really like it. Humour is more than just putting on a silly voice. I won't miss it at all and wouldn't have even noticed the cancellation/postponement/whatever if it were not for this thread.

Dude, that's like saying if the show FireFly was so good, then why was IT canceled?

Firefly was cancelled after 11/14 episodes because there weren't enough viewers and it was below Fox expections.
So if you thought it was great, that's fine, but it's not the common view. Same goes with UR, I liked it, even though it starts to get a bit dull, but a huge amount of people here don't care/know about UR. It's not The Escapist fault, so I'm not angry.

I couldn't really care either way; I never thought Unforgotten Realms was all that funny anyway. Besides, the Escapist still has all the other great stuff like Zero Punctuation, Unskippable,Escape to the Movies, Apocalypse Lane, and so on.

I loved the premise, but it never really made me laugh too hard. Except for the first episode. One dipshit once tried to name his character Gaylord Faulker.

I didn't watch it. I saw one or two episodes and I suppose they were OK. Not hilarious but moderately funny. As such I won't really miss it personally but it's sad to see the Escapist drop some content that a lot of people seemingly like.

I am extremely sad to see this show go. I've been watching since the Classic versions were released. The most frustrating part is that if the creator (Rob) doesn't get enough money from the DVDs he's selling, not only will it not be on the Escapist, it won't be continued.

I actually qouted blood Lined and I was in a hurry when I wrote the reply and just had a look at the title, that's why the "I'm not angry at The Escapist" sentence found its way in.

I'm not angry at The Escapist. I'm sure everyone involved had their reasons, however they still remain unknown. I am sad that I won't get my weekly shot of Unforgotten Realms though, so I hope UR finds a new home soon, either by the revenue of the upcoming dvd (and merchandise [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.147049]?) sales or by partnering up with a new site.

Much in the same way that MovieBob did with his movie reviews on The Escapist and his Game Overthinker episodes on Screw Attack.

All I know is, if Jon Etheridge is replacing Rob as my weekly Thursday episode maker, he better pick it up and make Apocalypse Lane the best damn show here.

I'm workin on it I'm workin on it. LOL.

Apocalypse Lane is about to pick back up. We had one or two recent episodes where even i was like, "Man, this seems to be dragging out a bit." but at the same time the exposition is needed to tell the overall story. However I think this weeks and the next 3 after that should get us back on track and I promise to try and keep the pace up. We have a BIG plot twist coming up that going to shine the show in a whole new light. BUM BUM BUUUMMMMMM.

OT: It is sad to see Rob go. I watched a bit of his series but I think a lot of the jokes went over my head because a lot of it was RPG/D&D related and I can't really say I'm into that. However I know for a fact how hard it is to produce a weekly animated series and my hat is off to Rob and anyone else who can mange that. Being under that kind of a deadline for over a year will put stress on anybody.

I do hope his fan base is strong enough to support the show going for another season. It would suck to have something like that go on for so long and then not have a proper conclusion to the story. Good luck Rob. My the animation Gods shine their light on your tablet.

You honestly believe a significant amount of people regularly posted on the forums as a result of UR being posted on the site? And if they did those same people would just leave because the series got cancelled?

I like how you insult the entire community (and therefore myself) by cliaming that only those that watch episodes of UR and post on the forums are not "Search bar Nazi's and Yahtzee bitches", when in fact I highly doubt there is such a figure.

Firstly, I didn't say anything you said I wrote in your first paragraph.

Secondly, I said "ON TOP OF", meaning as well as cancelling Unforgotten Realms the Escapist community has become what I described.

So your saying that all the good posters on the Escapist were Unforgotten Realms people? Last I checked those were the morons that made constant one lines post and had nothing to contribute to conversation.

Lets just hope all the UR fans will go somewhere else and stop posting in the Escapist.

The show really started to go down hill when he started trying to build a coherent plot. The first season was great, because it was pretty much just a series of somewhat connected random events that lead to funny situations. The second was pretty good, and the rest of it has just been very meh.
