I say British. Not for any reason, I just made a habit of saying British and not English.

I say Scottish, mainly becuase I live in England now for University. I do get annoyed like most when people say, "Ah! You must be English! That accent!"

I guess we kinda know how it feels when The Netherlands is called Holland.

As an American reading this thread I am....so confused.

Just to be clear, Britain is the island and England is a country on Britain (again the island) in the UK and the UK is a collection of countries on Britain (again the island) (with the exception of Northern Ireland)?

I'm from Northern Ireland, but I call myself Irish rather than British, due to my families status.
Your Catholic I'm guessing, my Cousin-in-law is from there in a place called the "Shankill road" in Belfast.Apparently hate catholics as does most of Belfast from what I'm told.
Being Italian doesn't help me with that sort of thing.

I'm Californian.
One of the three states to have been an independent country.

My grandmother's English, if that matters...

What's with this obsession with nationality on the Escapist? It's not where you're from, it's where you're going.

I say English, but only cos my accent makes the way I say 'British' sound all posh and toffy. As a matter of personal opinion, I hold no real favour one way or the other.

I call myself European, mostly because i'm not proud, in any way to be English or British. European i don't mind, so i consider myself as such.
