Interesting, currently we are at 18.8% non straight people, that must be higher than the population average, so either more 'gays' play games, or are on the escapist, or my test was rubbish because 'gay' are much more likely to view the thread :p
Thanks for your useful contribution, most of you anyway.
It's always hard to say, since it can take time to surface and for people to realize that they are actually gay or bi. Some will also keep telling themselves that they are straight even if they've had several sexual experiences stating the contrary. :) What makes it even harder to get data on, is that not all people will be honest when asked, thereby making the gay/bi percentage smaller than it truly is. If you ask people in San Francisco, you're probably going to get thruthful answers, but go to Saudi-Arabia where homosexuality is punished with death, you can guess what the answers will be.

Fucking win.

Magistrate Rosferatu has returned!
Nice to see you two around these parts again.

For me, pansexual. "What's that?" It's someone who's attracted to individuals regardless of gender, and specific individuals, rather than a gender in particular. It most often manifests as bisexuality, but the underlying cause is different.

I hope 126 of the people who took this poll get hit by trains. (All the people who said they were gay or Bi) I hate faggots
These forums aren't the place for hateful behaviour.
It's good to be back. Yes. Yes it is.

Also, I beat up homophobes.

I have bi and gay friends they don't seem to care that there has yet to be a gay character that isn't a stereotype.
Cough Zangief from Street Fighter 2 cough He is a Russian BEAR WRESTLER! hello how is that a gay stereotype?
Generally the gay male stereotype is often the flamboyent effeminent sort, but there's a few others and these are kinda like the subcultures, except that in their portrayal they are often the only "kinds" out there, or are depicted with such...a negative manner. These are bears, and leathermen,of which Zanghief is a sort of combination of them...that is if he's a gay stereotype intentionally/at all. But anyway he's a bodybuilder who is gigantic and focuses on masculinity/strength, etc.

I do think that it to do with the source, namely the tubes bring together all kinds of people that wouldn't normally be able to be brought together, namely by geography but the other demographic information applies too: Thus you'll see "more" of x y and z than you would simply looking around (well maybe, depending :3). Also I almost forgot to point out: For those that don't know, some people come to this realization quicker or later than another. Could take a day or ten years, depending on the person and their environment, social situation, etc. Also on average men tend to come out at around 16 - 19, while women tend to come out at around 20 - 25 / later 20s, ON AVERAGE. >.< I just stress that because people's knee jerk reaction to a piece of statistical information is to immediately say "well none of my friends/I don't know anyone that..." and it's just...so...annoying, because it's a STATISTIC, not an infallibility! Sorry, that mini-rant is over.

As for how would it affect me I can see gay marrige as causing a major problem between me and my lesbian friend. If she were to get married she knows I wouldn't consider it a marrige and would never go to the "wedding" or see her partner. I don't want that kind of rift.
Well that has to do with more of your attitude/opinion toward gays and gay marriage than it does the thing itself...From the post it sounds like that would be the barrier between ya'll were it to occur, which in reality is your opinion about said act that would be the barrier.

I do applaud you for finding the..most interesting uh argument I guess against gay marriage, abut the continuity of the species and all that. I've actually never heard it before, except as an addendum to a religious argument. Let's pretend that all the methods of artificual conception are eliminated and all the children have homes and whatnot. Even if that were the case...Why would it matter? Some people would be incapable of having children and their genes wouldn't come into play later on. So? Are you going to use the "if everyone were gay our species would die" argument? If so, then that's just silly..we waste enough time, money and human lives on pointless endeavors, unadulterated hatred, war, so many things claim the lives of people, why would this matter so much?
