Bisexual and a chick, though I am usually either in a straight relationship or a gay relationship. Never both at once.
Well you can be bisexual withotu being polyamorous.

Actually, I don't think that there are enough homosexual people in gaming. This sends the wrong message to bigots, and homophobes. They would say, "Oh, you play CoD, or any game, so you're not gay." This is completely unfair and an outrageous generalization. I myself am not gay, but my uncle is gay and instead of Gaming, he is a Tech-buff (LOL). He is a person who can find his way around any computer with his eyes closed. Also, just to let you know, I know for a fact that there are some people ho will reply on this poll that are gay but will not poll that way because he/she is embarrassed.

Lol that's funny, although that's a common misconception. 2 of my uncles are gay and they are far from perfectly groomed. And they never go clubbing and Party-Boy dancing.........

Demographics are weird. I'd assume that the percentage of gamers who are gay is roughly equivalent to the percentage of the total population that is gay, but I don't know if there have been any large-scale demographic studies on that. I do find that homosexuals and bisexuals are often unrepresented or poorly represented in video games. More often than not, it seems that it's something that really isn't considered. I've been playing Neverwinter Nights lately and I'm sure you can imagine my dismay that my female character couldn't hire a female courtesan, only the male one (not like you get to have sex, even. All I got was a chance to ask more questions about the city.) Bisexuals are all but invisible in video games, but we're also all but invisible in movies, TV shows, etc. The only bisexual characters encountered in media tend to be slutty and are nearly always female. It's rather frustrating at times, but cultural change takes time. The gaming communities I've encountered have been welcoming to me, and for that, I am very grateful.

It's actually a line out of 'Black Books' (Comedy Series) - I stole it and maded it my own.

On a queerer note, I often get approached by people who assume I'm bisexual... something to do with my fashion sense I believe (lots of black, slim-fit attire...no, not latex)
That and the fact that I'm a pretty affectionate dude (i.e hug my mates, cos i lub them so much).

I'm 100% straight though - relative to chicks, guys are freakin beasts... all that hair and dangly parts, I just could never be physically attracted to that *slight vommy*

@Curtmeister: How would he know?

..where's the "why does this matter, and yes of course all gay people are portrayed badly and stupidly in video- games, the writing is generally so bad it hurts, how could they not be"- option?
True, better writing would help games in general. I think Fable and Fable 2 have one of the best portrayals of homosexuals, bisexuals and heterosexuals as the main character can be whatever you choose. It also has little to do with the main story or the jobs/abilities of the player's character. The character is a hero regardless of sexual orientation and I like that.

Pretty sure I am straight.

I am getting kind of sick of homosexuals always having Mexican accents and doing pirouettes; we definitely need to grow up. Can't say I see it going away in the near future, though - I mean, African-Americans achieved "equality" with whites in the 1960's, and look at all the stereotypes that still infect our culture.

Is this poll being run in the Gaming Discussion section with the intent of learning who may be interested in a sort of LGBT Alliance gaming group on X-Box Live/PSN along the lines of the Gamer Chix group which would provide a safe haven from homophobia on said gaming services?
While that is not a bad idea in theory, using such play groups denies one the equality of being treated as poorly as everyone else on X-Box Live.[Don't take that too seriously.]

Mexican accents? where you got that from? i thought most stereotypical gays talked like Europeans.

[quote:]As for infertility it is a minor defect (genetic or not I don't know) and I never said they couldn't get married. I was talking about gays in general and not understand why people are gay. It had nothing to do with marrige, more understanding why would cause someone to be gay.

As for how would it affect me I can see gay marrige as causing a major problem between me and my lesbian friend. If she were to get married she knows I wouldn't consider it a marrige and would never go to the "wedding" or see her partner. I don't want that kind of rift.[/quote]

We our selves don't understand why... It just happens... most of us like me Know it since we have memory (Seriously i was interested in men waaay before my brother was interested in girls.)

Also look at clams plants and flowers. all of those living things are able to reproduce which which ever of their species no matter weather they are "male or female" I think that the whole male and female division was a mistake of evolution or simply god. even if god created us why make a more passive more abuse able version of our selves, its a mistake in all.

And about marriage I don't care if we get death penalty for going to a church to wed another of the same sex as long as i get tax cuts, conjoint housing and did you know that if your gay partner gets severely injured and he ends up in the hospital you cant go visit him? you are going to need permission from the parents and allot of parents hate us for being who we are. so he will be staying alone in the hospital feeling all that pain and that brutal suffering ALONE while you wait in your house for news of him, but you wont get them, because you are not allowed. (A friend went trough that)

To answer someone's request to name 5 gay game characters-
Protagonist Hero from Fable 1&2
Protagonist Character from Jade Empire
Hans 'Fox' Taubeman from Bloody Roar
Zangief from Street Fighter 2 (so the lore goes regarding his game ending from Super Street Fighter 4)
Oh, just look at this list.
http://thehealingtouch.wordpress.com/2008/01/01/the-list-top-10-gay-game-characters/
http://gaygamer.net/top_20_gayest_video_game_characters/
It isn't an exhaustive list, mind you, and the first three fall back on the 'Gay Option' (thinking of which, Jimmy Hopkins from Bully would count as bi-sexual if the Gay Option is considered),but the gay and bisexual presence is there.
Does Female Commander Shepard count? Liara might technically be either hermaphroditic or asexual.

I'm straight.

I do think that homosexuality is a disease.

I'm not sure if I'm a homophobe because, while I don't really care about people being gay, I've never been in a situation where a friend tells me he's gay and I'm pretty sure I'll think differently of him because of that fact even though I shouldn't.
