I'm bi and I think that game developers shouldn't shy away from having GLBT people in their games if it comes up. They don't have to go out of their way to include it, but be aware of it and not be juvenile or offensive about it when they do. Same thing with including ethnic groups; a little variety is nice, over the top political correctness is annoying.

I just stick to the idea of marrige being between a man and a woman. It has been that way for centuries. I think another thread had this whole problem solved.

In the eyes of government there are only civil unions between straight people and between gay people.

In the eyes of the church straight people are married and gay people are still in civil unions.

In the eyes of the church, the earth is 6000 year old, and homosexuality, wearing clothing made from two differnt fabrics, eating shell fish and planting two crops side by side are abomonations and all who trasgress MUST be put to death...

also, for centuries people died before 30, should we have stuck to that? for centuries women were treated as objects, should we go back to that?

Also, marrige was originally a buisness agreement of a man seling his daughter, but that changed, so why not change marrige again?

and i ask again. How will the legalization of same sex marrige affect you?

I'll just be flat out honest here. It makes me really uncomfortable. Why? I see that the reason creatures live is to pass on their DNA to their children. Gays can't have children, hence they can't pass on their DNA, hence why do people become gay or are born it? I just don't understand. Men and women are literally made for each other including having compatible hardware (if you get my meaning). So I just don't understand why people would be gay. Is it not normal to be uncomfortable around the unknown? If someone could explain this to me then I might be able to make an informed choice.

My idea is an action game, fighter/fps where the player character is trying to get his partner back, the one he loves... who turns out to be a guy, but you dont find that out untill the end.

That would be awesome, and really piss off the haters. I can imagine some 13 year old playing the game being like "oh god this is the best game EVAR" and then see the ending scene and be like "omfg this game is GAY" xD

Am i gay? no one has ever actually asked me if i was gay but ive been called gay before... but am i gay? no. do i think being gay is bad? no. do i support gay marriage? ...no... because i think mariage is a wrong decision in the first place and only those who really love each other in a gay way should get maried... most just do it for publicity... or atleast at my school and in my city...

The thing about these sort of threads is that it creates a distinction between people based on nothing. Asking how many gays play games?? The fact that someone is gay or not is probably the smallest possible distinction to use to separate people. As for gay representation in games, a character doesn't need to wear designer clothes and drink appletinis to be gay. Hell, Master Chief could be homosexual for all we know.

Its okay big guy, let it out. Dont worry about it man, it will probably get passed and if it doesnt well who cares? Alot of marriages end in divorce AND marriage is a rather pointless concept in my opinion, if we didnt have religion we wouldnt have marriage... Make of it what you will.

Sorry, I'm just in a bit of shock.
You have to understand - I grew up around Christians who used their faith like most people use a hammer - people who disagree are the nails in this demonstration.

Anyway, yeah, I relish in destroying innocence of all kinds.
It amuses me.

I'm different from everyone else, my entire family and friends (Who share my belief) are all the same. We believe in equality because that's the biggest message from Catholicism; Don't hate people.
