I am human because other people consider me as human.(Okay no they don't)

But I look like one! Act like one!

Other than DNA would have to say the reason that I believe that I am human is that I am self aware and obsessed with status (aka Money).

I?m sorry, I?m not really on the level here. You seem to have asked one question and then gone on a tangent about something pretty much unrelated.

I am human because I am the thing we describe as human. I have all the characteristics of Homosapien. I have no suspicions that I?m something mealy with the appearance of being human, disguised as a human or something else trapped in a human body.

As to your other questions. I don?t think I?m unique at all other than being an individual, I?m sure I share many characteristics with other people and in general humans share characteristics with other animals. I don?t think it?s a matter of being worth of unworthy of life, if just happens to be and I?m quite happy that I am alive and I think it?s unfortunate and maybe even rather tragic when people aren?t. Life is important to me and I?m happy but maybe not quite content yet. At least I?m not at a point my life where I might look back and feel satisfied, I haven?t even begun really.

Actualy no, you have me, I am really a platypus.
I have been found out.

I am human according to the biological criteria...
I have flaws, emotions, and have been called human before, I'm a little bit odd, but then I figure I could only be human... Right... Maybe?
Don't confuse me, it's late here!
Fine, yes I'm human straight answer let's not dwell on it as it might confuse me and you and that would be bad and now I have stage fright therefore I must be human so let's go with that :D

Why would I be less or more human based on how happy or satisfied I am? Why would anyone like to pretend that they're not?

I've thought about your question, and I have to say that I am human. I floss my teeth only every other day, I get back pain, I get angry over trivial things, I go to the store and buy things on sale. I am not human only in the eyes of others; the advertisers, the government, anyone I can't meet face-to-face. It's not a question of whether I'm worthy; I'm not worthy of anything, yet here I am, at my keyboard typing out messages to a pushy stranger on the internet. Worthy or not, I'm human.

I hereby declare my feeling that this is merely overwrought philosophical psychobabble, and that this question has no merit.

anyway, I am both human and not. Coz in my personal experience, i seems to embody humanity, but that also makes me less human...

But I think human is a state of mind, SO I'm not. lol
whaaaaaaat? That doesn't even make sense. Human is not a state of mind it's a Species.
sure it does, I'm so human it's as if im not. Like in Terry Pratchett books, Death is SO real it's like he isn't to other ppl :p

but Death as en entity is a meta-physical personification created by the human mind....and humans are just....a species. lol

Do not know.

Everybody I know focuses on the now, on what they can gain, on a short and narrow view, on 'me'. I tend to think about whats best in the long term what benefits 'us' on whats best for the majority without breaching my own morals.

So I have difficulty thinking of myself as human simply because my benchmark for a 'normal' human is nothing like me.

No, I AM MURLOC!

(Somebody already quoted the Fifth Element, so I'll go with that instead)

In all honesty, I don't quite get what the question is asking. It seems like you're asking me whether I deem myself "worthy" of living or not, or maybe something along the lines of whether or not I feel happy with who I am? Hell I don't know.

So I'll go with this: I know that I'm a "vehicle" for the safe transport of "my" DNA, until I pass it on and eventually fall apart (just as any vehicle would). I can be "serviced" to prolong my usefulness, but eventually I will just fall apart. I have the same delusions of grandeur that any other person has, believing that I am above the other animals due to "sentience" (something that the other animals could quite possibly possess). If this and whatever other characteristics I could bang on about for hours on end make me human, then I am indeed human.

I know this seems like a rather dim outlook on things, but I am revising the way I view things regularly, so this is merely a work in progress and will probably change at some point. I'd also like to make clear that I'm known as being a very optimistic person, so I'm not saying this as some kind of "I hate everything" rant.

I also like using "quotation marks".

Yes i am human. I am human because I can love, I can hate, and I have enough sense to know the difference between the two. I am human because no matter what happens I continue to try to make the most of our short life by doing what i want, so yes i do value this life. I am content with what i am, therefore i am happy.

Yes I am, because the events that I have experienced had shaped my life and personality which is one of the key human traits.

WTF is wrong with you TC???

I used to smoke too much weed too, try sleeping more and thinking about shit less.

Why? What makes you strongly believe that you are human?
Human: any living or extinct member of the family Hominidae characterized by superior intelligence, articulate speech, and erect carriage

Sound like anyone (everyone) you know? Because it should.

What makes you unique and worthy of the life that was given to you and had yet to be taken away? Do you value this life? Are you happy or content?
These are those questions that even the most dedicated of philosophers try to avoid. We all wonder why we have been given life, and why we are here, but there is no TRUE answer.

Those of us who are alive certainly value this life quite highly, because otherwise we would end it at the slightest sign of unhappiness.

And being happy or content can go two ways as far as I can tell. There's blissful ignorance and/or knowledge. Ignorance is really the source of true happiness. For example, when you are in "love" you are being ignorant to many things, either on purpose or not, for the sake of your loved one and yourself. Knowledge, however, is the source of contentedness. Be forewarned, taking either of these paths can lead one to insanity (The blissfully ignorant evangelist vs. the suicidally depressed genius).

Yes.
Now please stop this existential bullshit. I just got back from philosophy group with a guy who never grew out of the sulky teenager (faux)misanthropical mindset.
"Wah wah humans aren't worth anything, wah wah animals are better".
And a human-centric *****.
"Wah wah humans are claerly superior, wah wah, IQ and 'LOVE', wah wah"

Murderous rage doesn't even come close to my feelings on the matter.
Besides, what the hell does it matter?

Yes, because of the simple reason that I feel human. That's the entire explanation. I am human because I say I am.

Also, I am surprisingly content with being human (super-human would be nice as well). this is surprising because I hate humanity and wish it would just go away...not the people though, people are awesome and I only have a problem with humanity.
