i like the feeling of actually physically owning a game
digital is alright but nothing will ever beat being able to have the disk(or cartridge)in your hands

I love hard copies. Current technology is unreliable and I've seen it with both the 360 and the PS3. First you have limited HDD space. Second, the files can be corrupted and then become pointless if you can't re-download them. I was lucky I was able to re-download my corrupted Halo 2 maps days before Microsoft said "fuck you" to the online loyalists. Now, if they would only release hard copies of DLC at the same time they release the DLC. I would've much prefered disks for the things like the GTA4 or Mass Effect content rather than having all that space taken up on my hard drive. At least having the disks I can delete the files but know I can always get it back. So, until I can be promised an infinite sized storage space, I'll be spinning disks until I or my systems die.

I enjoy having a library of games. But that doesn't mean i have anything against it being a digital library. I like the idea since it saves on space (for me), money (for both me and publishers), and allows developers to have a creative freedom unrestricted by disc space(which id good for me too). I also like the idea that i don't have to wait for the physical copy to arrive in the mail, or have to go into town to buy it (in the hopes that they actually have it in stock). On top of that, think of all the plastic that would be saved if all games were digital, and old games would never go out of stock.

Hear hear.

How retarded would you have to be to not want digital downloads? It saves money off production and distribution, and more importantly, saves space in your home.
Some of us like owning a physical object when we pay for it. We also don't have an infinitely large HDD. Some of us also have slower internet connections and can't spend 3 days downloading a game.

Having a preference difference from yours doesn't make someone retarded.

I'm not ready, but I'm getting psyched up for it yet. The allure of physical media is great, but most of my gaming money for the last year went to GoG and Telltale.

The fact that I'm in Brazil and people haven't wised up to tax digital purchases yet is a nice bonus...

I love digital distribution on the PC, but on consoles, I think i'll pass.

If consoles want to embrace the digital distribution, they need to ship the consoles with a minimum of 250 gb of space, or just allow people to attach their 1TB disks without paying an outrageous price for something you could get with bigger space and much better overall.

I've bought dozens of games with Games on Demand on XBL, I prefer it if anything. You don't even need to be hooked up to XBL for them to work so it's not like you can't play them when XBL (eventually) goes down the shitter. I enjoy the convenience of being able to just click on Games Library and play whatever I want

It seems like the game companies wish to cram it down our throats since it saves them a bit of cash.

Maybe if they pay for the bandwidth it costs to transfer it to my computer or give us discounts, I'd be willing to go along with it, but I doubt that will happen.

Discs to me aren't just about having something to play on... They're reliable, give me a sense of how many games I have, what ones I own, etc etc. Some of my technology has dropped some data from the face of the earth before and I can't do that to entire games.

Plus, downloads feel so... Clinical. I LIKE getting home after buying a game, ripping off the selafane and reading through the instruction booklet for a few hours whilst the game is installing updates (DMC4 and Bayonetta, I'm looking at you.)

I love Steamworks. Buy disc. If anything happens to disc, you're not perma-fucked, you can just download the game at any time.

Of course, this also means I hate my worthless ISP (AT&T) with an all-consuming passion but stick with them because they're cheap.

I love the convenience of Steam.
So long as Valve doesn't pull a dick move (which seems unlikely), I think I'll be fine.

You have to be online to play them if you download them to a different 360. You can transfer the license once per year and then you can play offline but if you get two RROD in a one year period...well...you're outta luck.
Suddenly, my views have changed a little bit...

I'm terribly sorry, are we console-primary gamers not allowed to have an opinion on digital distribution? One that the companies who, y'know, make and sell games to the console-owning crowd might have an interest in knowing? Given the differences in development and design for consoles and PCs, one might think a lump sum poll would actually be LESS useful to all parties concerned than one that focused on one major grouping or the other. But hey, that's just a console gamer's opinion. Probably worth nothing.

I already download virtually all my games.

Indeed the only game I've paid for in the past year is Halo: Reach.
