I'm accepted by my friends, but to most of the world I'm "That gay kid." I'm not gay and I'm for gay rights, so this pisses me off immensely.

In 2ndary school (Scottish highschool?) school stops being compulsary 2years before it ends so that weeded out the criminally wild oppressive kids and the mad hard exams brought the remainders together. Before then I was firmly in the 'unaccepted' rejects camp with the disabled/goth/foreign/posh/hippy/nice/nerdy kids from all 7year groups, probly from my tolerance of the different and respect for the clever.

Yes except whenever I don't have a girlfriend people just call me "gay." (that's how our school works..)

Depends on what you mean. I have lots of friends, a I hang out with multiple groups of people, so I feel accepted.
I don't care. I have friends, but I think the majority find my intelligence threatening to their way of life.
Where I'm from, the ideal is a submissive, stupid and shallow socialite.
I got "submissive" down pat, although I may have crossed the line right into "spineless", but I refuse to debase myself to live up to people's ideals. They want stupid? Fine, but if they try to tell me I "read too much" or "over-think things", the gloves come off.

A little bit. I have some friends that I really like and like me but I have trouble striking up a conversation since not much goes on with except games, movies, TV and guns
Yes. Yes I am. I have a slight talent of befriending people. Even people who consider me an asshole, or people that I consider to be assholes. No problems with talking to girls, or doing other things with them. Like going to the movies (what did you think I'd say?).
Although sometimes I tend to overlook some facts which lead to disastrous situations. Like when I got in a conflict with one of my friends and after we almost fought all the other friends I had in that part of town, minus one, abandoned me. Fucking jerks.

My social group is the non-group group (the people who don't really belong to the jocks or the smart-arses or whatever group you want to draw attention to). Socially I am not accepted mainly because I am smart and don't like acting dumb to fit in. In my gorup I am accepted (hurray)
