Well played Hollywood Marketing, well played.

I say this because even though only 35 of 263 people responding to this poll (at time of me writing this) is an absolute minority, it'll still rake in enough for James Cameron to buy himself a saecond golden bathtub, fill it with skittles dusted in gold dust, and go for a skittly, golden bath.

Oh and OT, no, I will not be going to the movies to pay to see something that I've seen before with 15 minutes of extra footage. Maybe I'd pay to see an alternate ending where the Earth forces, y'know, win with all their technological marvels and all.

Yes, I would definitely pay to see it again with some blue kitty head stomping in giant robots.

Fuck no.

They'd need an extra two hours to correct the shitfest of a plothole that movie was.
Agreeing with you all the way.

Here's a pretty big gaping fucking plothole for ya; TECHNOLOGY. I rest my case.

Either this 15 minutes contains a cameo appearance of the damned Doctor and his TARDIS, or you are not getting me to see this again.

I'm betting on the latter.
I would so pay to see that heheh the Doctor and the Tardis woudl be the best thing in the entire movie =D
My mom borrowed the DVD from a friend and we saw it like 2 days ago and that was all
<_< it didn't have the Doctor in it.

I never wanted to see the original but my friend wanted me to watch it on DVD with her, so I did.

Now she wants me to see it in 3D with her...

no, i rented avatar, sat through about 30 min, realized it was just a better visualized rip off of Furn Gully: The Last Rain Forest, got bored, and returned it. Why would i go pay to see it again?
not to mention Fer Gully was cooler. At leasat the bad guy (Hexxus) was the most awesomely evil looking guy ever. Tim Curry for the win.
For the uninitiated

Honestly, weren't DVD Special Editions CREATED specificly so shit like this doesn't have to happen? All this does is prove a certian someone's greed. Some Special Edition DVDs even have more extra footage than what Avatar is putting it back in theaters, so there LITERALY is no excuse.
Yeah, but.. it's James Cameron. He tends to think he's the most special and talented man in Hollywood. Of course, he is "special", probably not the reality he's thinking of though. I'll give him talent at 3D in movie-making, but Avatar was just.. a fucking mess with glitter.

Avatar's one of those movies that offer a much grander experienced when watched in 3D on a big screen with TXH. I'll see it as many times as I can, as I'm never watching it on DVD.

The only way I'll see that movie again is if in the end the Na'vi are brutally crushed by the Imperial Guard led by Commisar Cain: Hero of the Imperium!
They should hand out free chainswords to the audience, it would justify the price of the ticket.

I'd prefer to see the Na'vi get curb-stomped by Chaos Marines personally, as seeing the Naiive's reaction to their friends getting spontaneously turned into balls of tentacles while being blown to bits would just be too much fun. Cain would be a close second though. Maybe he could suggest to Amberley that the Na'vi "get acquainted" with some Genestealers.

OT: Avatar was decidedly "meh" to me. There was no suspense as the story (ha!) was so utterly predictable all plot turns were already told by the GPS 5 minutes ago.

So no I'm not going to see this again. I probably won't even buy it on dvd (although someone in my family probably will :/)

My parents own a copy of it, so I don't see why I would waste gas to go to the movie theater and pay to see what I could easily borrow from them. If anything, I'd get into an argument with the manager for trying to persuade the ticket giver person into letting me pay for the 15 minutes of the film that I haven't seen.

Sorry, they're releasing a film to cinemas again as a special edition version?

I'm not sure if James Cameron has grasped why the "special" part in the phrase "special edition" exists.

No..the movie wasn't very good.
Agreed! I thought Avatar was really fucking boring and samey and didn't do anything for me.
1½ stars out of 5.
