Maybe.

I didn't see it in 3D the first time around, and haven't seen a 3D film in recent years, so if I do go see it again, that'd be why. I really don't care for any extra scenes.

I don't even see a reason to buy Avatar on DVD, let alone spend another 10 bucks to see it again in theaters. I didn't like it the first time around and I doubt an extra 15 minutes will change my opinion on the movie.

Short answer: No.
Long Answer: FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Really? For 8 extra minutes he finds a need for them to put it BACK in theatres? After he wasted so much time that my theatre didnt get Crazy Heart (way better movie) and OVER stayed becuase it was in for the wahtever awards? PLus the fact He's RE-releasing Titanic in 2012? Nope, sorry Mr. Cameron. You may be able to full a good portion of the world, but not me. I will not hand over my $11 just so you can sit atop your white horse on that Six mile high pedastol you placed yourself upon and laugh as everyone falls into your hands like damned sheep. I am the wolf, and I do not follow.
QUESTION Has he actually made titanic good? And by good I obviously mean cut out at least 80% of the pointless romantic bollocks which took up 90 percent of the film and could just as easily been covered by a montage, And just have , SHIP LEAVES, THEY FALL FOR EACH OTHER(quickly), SHIP HITS ICEBERG, SHIP GOES DOWN(epic only good bit in the hole original film) most everybody dies and she mourns his loss.

That might be worthwhile to see, If on the other hand they have diluted the story any more than they have already then I say SCREW HIM.

PS I am aware this will probably enrage some fans don't care no one on this site knows me so HA
To piss off more fans, I'll add this. I want him to redo it, where Jack keeps the necklace thing, then pushes her off and goes to safety. He's rich, what the fuck does he care about her? He'll get plenty of tail in New York. She was just dumb enough to let him draw her naked.

Didn't see it the first time 'round, and it doesn't feel like I'm missing out on something. So no, not this time either.

I saw the original when Disney released it as Pocahontas. Why would I shell out 15 more bucks to see ten seconds of extra shit I'm never gonna care about?

The only way I'll see that movie again is if in the end the Na'vi are brutally crushed by the Imperial Guard led by Commisar Cain: Hero of the Imperium!
I would gladly pay for this.
Seconded. It wouldn't be any fun without Jurgen and Amberly though.

Really, James Cameron?

Do you REALLY need to do this? You have (minus inflation) one of the highest grossing movies in the history of cinema and you want us to see it AGAIN? With 10 extra minutes? What could those 10 minutes possible contribute to the asinine and overused plot of this movie?

I give you, sir, the double flip-off. Enjoy the millions more you'll make for this re-release.
I"m not so sure that this was James Cameron doing. There are to many heads behind the production, financial, and promotional areas to blame on just one person. Honestly, even if James Cameron didn't like it, i don't think there was much he could have said to stop it.

Speaking of Titanic, my issue with is was the over hype on Leo. JESUS, every where i turned was screaming googling girls with his picture everywhere... and I mean everywhere. The rest of the movie really didn't bother me. And to be honest, I'm happy that leo took all that time off cuz now i can go watch him and we can all recognize him for the awesome actor he is.

no, i rented avatar, sat through about 30 min, realized it was just a better visualized rip off of Furn Gully: The Last Rain Forest, got bored, and returned it. Why would i go pay to see it again?
not to mention Fer Gully was cooler. At leasat the bad guy (Hexxus) was the most awesomely evil looking guy ever. Tim Curry for the win.
For the uninitiated

okay.... seriously, HOW do you do that.... get the youtube video to play!!! i can NEVER figure it out.

I think not. The original cut was a steaming pile of mediocrity that lasted way too long. I doubt even more footage is going to make it any better.
