Well, in England we call our prime minister a prick all the time, so to me it does seem a tad harsh...
ah yes David pricky Cameron, hes an incarnate prickfest of an individual who by virtue of his pricky principles directly threatens anyone who didn't have a six figure pricking trust fund, a man who while at university was in a club whose aim was to go out and see how much a prick they could be to poorer people who had the misfortune of serving them, an utter prickfest clusterfuck of a waste of genes, im allowed to say that and so can u all, that is freedom : D

Jeez, calm down, Obama. No need to start banning everyone...
Seriously, though, he shouldn't have been banned for calling him a prick. If Obama has a public email adress, he's gotta expect that not everyone will be emailing him just to say they think he's doing well. Plenty of people out there don't like him, he should accept that.
The FBI did it.

Not Obama.

Don't jump to conclusions.

The FBI is the last group of people you want to piss off when it comes to things like this.

Threatening the president of the United States, will put you under their eye pretty quickly. Since I'm assuming this is a news source the OP is getting it from, and news source hardly show both sides of the story, I'm guessing he said things that were more than just the disgruntled hate mail he always gets.
re original source, I cannot remember but I saw it on toms hardware a few days later, I fear the original source is a newspaper in England called the "daily star" which is a bad sign for the credibility of the story I was just curious about how others on the forum felt on the topic and I thought it might cause a tiny chuckle.
I believe it happened, I just don't believe they're telling the whole story.

It's very easy to paint the government as the devil when you only show the other guy's point of view. Considering government is always a touchy subject with people, it makes it even more one-sided.

Bad puns aside, this is hilariously ridiculous. Shouldn't the US free speech thing apply to everyone?
Not really - in Government Theory, the "rights" of the US constitution are your personal remuneration in exchange for giving up your individual freedom to the US government. Same way for most Euro constitutions, difference being that those are ammended on a weekly basis.

None of this matters though - European media has less free speech than us and Finland conducts "studies" on itself claiming it actually has more, your government can and will do whatever the hell they want with you without fear of reprisal, and there never will be a unified Ireland. Ever.

Hmm.... yeah, a little harsh but I could see it for security reasons. If everybody in America knew the president's email, there could be a problem. But I didn't think you could be "banned" from a country. That's a new one.

On second though this is ridiculous. We should be allowed to be drunk and write angry emails to whoever we want and freedom of speech means you have to read the email and silently agree. The FBI are a bunch of pricks for banning him from the US for acting stupid. What a world we live in when we can't even prank people without consequence.

Reminds me of the one time I was in a TF2 furry server and asked, "What's with all the furfags?" Then get banned from said server for "Racism."

Awesome ... just amazingly awesome! :D

It reminds me of two kids in the playground exchanging insults and then Obama turning around and screaming "I'm telling on you!" whilst putting up a sign on his cubby house displaying the message 'No Lukes allowed'.

Classic.

Yes he should have been banned by the way! Just because it lightened my day and made me happy we still live in a quirky world n.n

Funny thing is it will probably make him a folk hero in his Uni and town , so why complain? :D

lol he's British he has no freedom of speech.
hmmm, go test out US freedom of speech by shouting fire in a cinema...

No western country has 100% freedom of speech
That's inciting panic.

I was going to say something much more rude, but I'm positive I would be banned for it, so I'll shorten that and just say once you compromise public order and safety on purpose, you're already in the wrong.
