I don't think that it's at all fair, but I do find it hilarious that someone was basically permabanned from America for abusive language.
wow, now that you mention it like that, that's horrible

horrible horrible horrible

wow, the government can't punish people for saying anything, even to the president (heck ESPECIALLY to the president). You should be able to say whatever you want to the president without any fear of reprisal from the government.. might get a punch in the mouth from a "patriot", but the government should have no jurisdiction over speech.
I believe the applicable term here is "Double standard".
Also interesting:
One prez gets fired for having an affair, in his office. Another wipes his ass with his country's ideals and nothing happens.

Lol didn't know you could ban someone from entering a country just for that. I mean if you threaten the president and there is legit proof that you may be serious sure, but ok then.

I always though of Freedom of Speech as a way for people to say I disagree with said Legislation, and this is why. Not for people to call each other pricks or what not and say I can say whatever I want.

Jeez, calm down, Obama. No need to start banning everyone...
Seriously, though, he shouldn't have been banned for calling him a prick. If Obama has a public email adress, he's gotta expect that not everyone will be emailing him just to say they think he's doing well. Plenty of people out there don't like him, he should accept that.
You don't think that maybe President Obama's in-box is inspected and cleared by some folks before he gets it?

Here's an idea, if you ever plan on visiting the US, maybe you shouldn't send emails insulting and threatening the leader of said country.

what if republicans get in next time, shouldnt they basically fly him over and organise a parade?

What happened to free speech? I believe we should have the right to call world leaders what we like.
As I understand it there were vague threats. Threats are not covered under freedom of speech. Secondly, he's not a US citizen.
I think calling someone names IS covered under freedom of speech. OR he needs to prove in a court of law that Obama IS a prick. I'd love to see that.
I'm gonna have to quote myself here: "As I understand it there were vague threats".

People should learn what parts of speech are actually protected under "free speech" before making criticisms about it.

Vulgarities, slander and threats are not protected.
lol.. that's ridiculous. You have to be able to say everything.. Threats I can see.. actual threats.. slander should be constitutionally protected, as it's a civil dispute.. it's he said she said.. the government shouldn't have any say other then perhaps a judge deciding who is probably right in the civil discussion over "Am I a prick or not?"..

Vulgarities? fuck that. You should be able to say anything about a president, prime minister, king, queen, el presidente, or their policies that you want, in any manner you choose to do it. They can choose to ignore you, or personally make a plea that you not act like a complete ponce, but should the government crack down on you? No. Being a Ponce isn't illegal, and if thinking obama is a prick makes you a threat to national security, there are millions of americans who think the same thing, and they may actually be within spitting distance of the president.

It's just a slippery slope.

This isn't any worse than a stand-up comedian.

If he threatened to kill the president, then I could understand, but even then....

Which president was fired over an affair again?

And the fun thing about this country is that you've got many different people with many different ideals. Bush Jr. has done more to wipe his ass with this countries ideals than Obama ever has from my perspective. COUGH PATRIOT ACT COUGH.

Isn't the White House in one way or another begging for drunken e-mail name calling if they have a public e-mail address?

Bad puns aside, this is hilariously ridiculous. Shouldn't the US free speech thing apply to everyone?
EDIT: I'm too lazy to actually edit, but I know the last sentence with the free speech is a bit wrong so just please refrain from quoting me on it in the future. Thank you.

But it was amusing nevertheless. Well played, FBI. I wonder if the people offering Obama viagra and a free college degree receive bans too...

He said, 'Oh dear, it was me'." still makes me chuckle, and agreed it does make u proud to be British, can u imagine what the police must've been thinking when they were sent round his house to tell him off "grr u, abiding by all of the British laws, grr, erm please could u not be mean about obama pls, coz in actual fact we can do nothing to punish u at all"

Nope. A foreign national on foreign soil is not covered under the US Bill of Rights. Feel free to quarter troops in your citizens' houses, Australia. Still, this is rather silly.

I get why they banned him, but I think it's a little harsh when you ban a half-drunken boy to never visit an area >.>

I wonder how vague u could be and still be banned. like if i said:

"I think negatice things about you when your actions contradict the things i want.
I wish upon you a bad hair day."

Would that get me banned from the US? Thats something worth exploring.

So he, a non-US Citizen, sent an Angry E-Mail to the President that supposedly also had threats in it?

Well, tough luck man.

If there were threats then how do you expect them to act.
Threats are taken VERY seriously by the FBI.
Even joking threats.

Why don't they set to work on all the idiots calling Obama a criminal and saying that he's "the worst thing to happen to America" rather than non-US citizens drunkenly calling the President a prick along with vague threats.
