I don't know what you mean by terrible PC community especially especially when comparing to the xbox but It seems like the PC (if it can run it) is the obvious choice.
Having played BF games on the pc and the 360 I can assure you the pc community is worse as far as team killing over vehicles and torrents of abuse go. On the 360 (at least as far a bc2 goes) people don't talk past the squad level, and when they do it's genrally friends chatting or "Hey, there's a tank over there).

Have we really gotten this far that we have to stamp every oppinion with "In my oppinion", of course it is his oppinion, he's saying it

... And lastly... FOR FUCKS SAKE PC PLAYERS, not everyone likes the mouse and keyboard setup, some prefer controllers, and lets just leave it there
You know what the irony is? Everytime PC gamers gives actual statistical evidence of some PC gaming related being better i.e. hardware capabilities or controls (There was a study that proved mouse/keyboard combo is better), console players use the "It's a preference" argument, but then when PC players use the preference argument, console players try to stamp it out as being wrong. Which is why I fixed it, I wanted it to be clear that it was his opinion. I'm well aware it's his opinion, but some people won't read it as that.

Thats most of the important stuff.

Like I said, I'm sure it will run. But I'm not sure if it will be significantly better.
Your kidding right?
I could say it, and then it wouldn't be true. And I've had the same thing said to me about more than one game; Oblivion, Crysis 2, Fallout 3/NV it didn't turn out to be true then either. At best it was a moderate improvement on my computer, not this mind-blowing-ly amazing transformation.
1) Your PC specs are amazing for this game, the fact that you don't know if it will be significantly better is baffling.

2) You can't just turn all the graphics to 11 and leave it there, 9/10 doing that, unless you have quad SLI GTX 580's, there's going to be some slow down because there are certain graphical settings that are pigs on top of the fact you're going to have 64 players running around. Things like ambient occlusion and really high Anti Aliasing really slow things down. Do some graphical tweaking beyond setting it to max and find out what settings hit your system the hardest before writing it off. Chances are turning off, or at least modifying those big ones, will drastically improve performance.

None of it matters really, PC and console communities tend to be equal (annoying kids are still better than elitist assholes), just go with the one your friends are getting.
Gotta disagree with kids less annoying ... :p But, yes, go with the one that you will have more interaction with people you know. XBL's key ingredient is party chat ... it's the one thing that makes it better than ps3 and I don't know how origin goes with voice chat (anyone know? is it comparable to steam's one on one chat?)

Oh and the controller v mouse&keyboard thing? BF3 for PC will likely be compatible with a gamepad (I haven't seen anything, but if they want to compete with any PC FPS's they'd sort of have to).

As a final note, the last gameplay trailer looked ... effin ... amazing. Finally realistic aircraft in realistic battles and it's not just a stupid killstreak reward that you can only perform if you do well enough. I have stopped caring about any steam v origin BS with this. I'm getting this one, bar none.

I say 360, this whole Origins debockle [luv using big words ^^]
Gets under my skin.
The PC might run it at high settings but to have the ideal specs to play it are hard and a little pricey but you sure can run it anyway now that I have read more of this.
Having more players doesn't always make a good game, MAG is a testament to that.

Alright then, crisis averted ;)

1: I've been kicked from servers for enough reasons to be wary of any server. Such reasons include, but are not limited to:

- Doing too good as Commander
- Defending myself as Commander
- Doing too well in the Tank
- Doing too well in the Walker
- Keeping the Transport chopper alive too long
- Not being in a clan
- Refusing to join a clan
- Single-handedly destroying a Titan
- Etc.

2: I never counts mods as a "positive". User generated content generally breaks down as such:

96% Absolute, mind-blowing garbage
3% Decent
1% Actually worthwhile, enjoyable or helpful content

And often that 1% is still surpassed in every way by developer content.

3: I have 2 people I play PC games with. 2 for TW: Shogun 2, 1 for Dawn of War. All other Pc games I play by myself. I have 4 friends I play Halo or MW or occasionally the odd game here or there. Thats it.

4: I say "silence" because at least on 360 I can Party Chat with those 4 people while I play, whereas on PC there will be no one.

5: I say the PC community is terrible because they are exactly the same as the console community; except they try to hide it beneath a facade of superiority and deny it.
Dude, if your gonna be so negative about all the common stuff(like getting kicked for no good reason). Why dont you just get it on 360 and stop clanking down on all the things that comes with PC gaming!

And btw, joypad is easier?
I guess your not that used to PC gaming that much or being a marksman in shooters for instance. I can understand that the joypad is easier with default controls them keybord+mouse is but anyone on this forum would tell you to just change them!
Hell, i cant think of a PC game that i have default controls to these days.

Thanks for bringing back the memories of the jet lines. Those were always fun.

PC, Hell I'd play it on PC if my friends had gaming rigs instead of/in addition to our 360's. As it is I want to play with friends (the only time I play BC2) so I will be passing up the PC version in all its 64 player shiny in favour of picking it up for xbox.

Why not plug your headset and 360 controller into your PC?
You'll suddenly be able to talk to everyone and play with the input method of your choice.

I'm also facing a similar dilemma. On the one hand, it really feels like it's meant to be played on the PC. I also really want to join a clan as playing on console feels so lonely. On the other hand, all the people I play with are getting the game on 360. I'm also pretty good at the game and am afraid of swapping to PC and being absolutely shit.

Also I'm not entirely sure if my PC will be able to handle it

360 (accidentally clicked PC) although I,m a big PC fanboy go with the 360 version.
I don,t think allot of people use Origin meaning the MP is going to be shit.

DirectX 11 on the PC VS DirectX 9 on the Xbox, I don't think that it's going to be even comparable. I bought both versions of Black Ops for the PC and Xbox and the Xbox version looked like crap compared to the PC. Literally I just bought the Xbox and I thought there was something wrong with it because it looked so horrible. I had to try it out on another Xbox. Besides, a FPS is made for a mouse, the accuracy of a head shot is incomparable. I've been trying to decide which version to get but I think about Black Ops and I vote for the PC version.
