Poll: Bayonetta, A game TOO Japanese?

Oh dear god, I am avoiding this game at ALL costs. I will stick with my Assassin's Creed 2 thank you very much.

Maybe he is wondering where all this faux prudishness has come from? Or if every one has lost there ability to laugh? Those would be the two main things that come to mind. I mean really other than being blatant and as far as I can see rather funnier about sexualisation than most games I fail to see how this crosses some sort of line. I see no reason for all this high horsed nonsense that comes out the moment some one sees this game.

It was more of a 'Wtf' moment. I didn't have any intention of buying the game in the first place since it didn't spark my interest, but it's just that it's a bit too... I'm not quite sure how to describe it. "A Japanese level of weirdness" would probably be appropriate.

The combat was fun, not super technical, but fun. The game's presentation though is just embarassing. I'd be pretty ashamed to have someone see this in my 360 game binder.

However (to pick the last gae I was playing) lust demons in dragon age are perfectly normal? Also the where not put in to justify nearly naked women (no male lust demons come to think of it) and the same would go with Morrigan (though there not being a male version of her makes a little more sense). Though the trick with really strange stuff is after you have seen it a few times you just get used to it. Witch means you can put good money on there being Japanese sites doing exactly the same thing.

Though it is not the fact that people find it weird that annoys me it is this silly attitude that if some thing comes straight out and says look sexy things here it is some how worse than some thing that hides it behind some sort of mock acceptability.

Oh and for the record I like dragon age, just it is the first thing that comes to mind just now.

I think the problem that most people have with it is just that in some cases it's so blatant that it's 'in your face' sort of sexy stuff. I can't compare it on a scale with Dragon Age though since I haven't played that game. (or any other game I've played since the only game I own that even remotely has 'sexy stuff' is AC2.)

I think the problem that most people have with it is just that in some cases it's so blatant that it's 'in your face' sort of sexy stuff. Depending on what you buy there might be a lot more in there than you think, just it has just kind of become background noise and you can't even pick it out any more. That is pretty much what is going on in dragon age, nearly naked female demons and half dressed women are just par for the course. Though I would be surprised if it does not still have some effect.

That and we are still on the internet right? In general standards of sexulisation and weirdness nothing can stand upto the internet. I would be more surprised to find out about things people have not fetishised on the internet than any thing they have.

Gameplay looks alright, if a little generic. It's definitely a very "Japanese-y" game. Like some kind of awful anime in video game form or something.

I guess I'm in the minority with the fact that I actually want to play this, based on the poll so far. I love games that are crazy, over-the-top, and filled with potential mindfuck. That is exactly what this game is turning out to be, thus this is one of the titles I am definitely looking forward to playing when it comes out.

Plus, I actually like Jappo-wierdness (to an extent), so that also explains why I'm not phased by it like the majority of people here.
