I'd like to think I'm both.
I'm rather bright and the only reason I wasn't identified as gifted was because I sort of purposefuly failed in order to stay at the school where my friends were.
I was a stupid third or fourth or whatever grader.
Or rather, it was a bad choice.
Anyhow.

I am gifted already and all it brought was procrastination and laziness.
This, basically. So massively lazy.

it's a stupid poll. who says you can't get both? over time, those people gifted will sooner realize what they can do with their gifts. if you just 'become' intelligent it just means you read what others told you and you're no wiser than whoever is making whatever you read. you have to be gifted to understand and makes others understand, and you have to be gifted to seek knowledge beyond what others have written down.
as for 'talent': talent doesn't exist, there is only passion and skill.
I like to think of it in gaming terms.
Let's say...drawing.
You are talented at it, so you start with +5 to the skill.
If you don't hone it, people who started at 0 can become better, but because you're talented, you have a headstart of sorts.
So I'd argue that talent does exist.
