If I were you, I would look through the games that each console has that you would buy, and also compare that to the ones that are multiplatform. I was thinking of getting a 360, but then it would have ended up being a waste of money since every game on there I have on PC or would get on PS3 (planning on getting one), besides Dead Rising, but that really isn't worth more then $200...

Here's an idea: Figure out which games look really fun to you. Make a list. Mark down which console those games are available on. Console with the most games wins. A lot of games are on both the 360 & the PS3, so that'll cut down on how much research you have to do. Controller preference is a factor too.

I've had a ton of fun with my 360, but I just got it back from its 3rd repair. MS handles the repairs very well though. I always have it back inside 2 weeks.

Seriously, it's not that hard. You'll need to research games to buy no matter what console you get anyway. Not to mention you didn't give us much to go on to begin with.

At any rate, good luck with everything.

I prefer FPS games on my PC because I'm a better shooter with a mouse. RPG's mostly for Xbox360. And PS3 exclusives for mah PS3 :3

Actually, there's a lot that is coming to 360 that won't be ported to PC... Halo 3, Halo 3:ODST, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, Dead Rising 2.... not every game gets a port.

Check your sources there... Dead Rising 2 is coming to PC. I don't like Halo at all, and the other two I never had much interest in.

Ok, so I may not have had all of them right, and that's just your opinion. My point is you can't tell the OP that every 360 game comes out on PC in an effort to discourage him from getting a 360 when that's simply not true.

Guess I would have worded it better... meant every game I would get on 360 is on PC...

Thanks.... I don't mean to pick on you but I am a self-admitted 360 fanboy and a lot of people use the PC angle as an excuse to discount the console. It's a valid point depending on the OP's taste in games. However, he listed Fable 2 and that hasn't hit PC I don't think.

I own both a Wii and a 360, so I offer my opinion on both:

Wii games started off strong but now they're bogged down with casual games. I'd say go with the 360! It has a wide array of games and you don't have to pay out the ass (at least not both cheeks) to get one. The Wii seems like it has shown us hardcore fans all that it wants to give us and it wants to hug onto its money-making casual gamer audience and leave us to fend for ourselves.

Wii gets old after a while
Xbox 360 breaks all the time
PS3 has Katamari forever making it the best thing in existance
I agree with you for the most part (Katamari Forever is even better than the original, and the original is one of my all time favorites) and while the 360's rrod is one of the main things that prevented me from getting it, I hear they fixed that problem. There are other (not quite as serious) problems with the hardware so OP should do some fresh research on that. But since you already have a pc (there's only a couple of games you can't get for it that you could for the pc) there's not much need for a 360.

The other reason I went with the ps3 is because they just have more of those weird (Katamari like) games I personally enjoy; so if the OPlikes to "roll" something Before playing a game (if you know what I mean) the ps3 would be a good choice. It's also good if you like to play online, try demos, download videos: it's free (even some of the videos).

The best of the Wii's good games are party games, so if you like having friends over for gaming: that would be a good choice. I also notice you have a DS which is another point for the wii: you get demos for the ds off it.

So my input:
360- Great value if you don't have a pc and/or don't plan on using many of the online functions. However you might get a bricked console or a scratched disc now and then.

ps3- Great value if you do plan on using a lot of online functions and/or like to "roll" things before playing. However it doesn't have all the functions of the 360 - custom soundtracks, chatting with friends on other games.

Wii- Great value if you often have friends over to game.

I myself, prefer an Xbox.
The online community is great (sometimes), The have alot of great FPSs, and just seem to have a wider crop of games than other consoles. *Jumps back into the shadows*

360 - I think both Wal-Mart and Amazon are doing their buy a core system get $100 gift card, which will pay for the majority of a 120gb HDD. It's a great deal.

I'm gonna troll for a bit:
DON'T BE A FANBOY! Just look for the console that has the games you like to play the most and then let your purchases do the talking.

Tough question. All three consoles are pretty good, though I tend to be Xbox 360 biased because I own a 360. However, the PS3 isn't without it's merits either. Since you already own mostly Nintendo consoles, I would have said the Wii. But then again, looking at the sort of games you're into, the PC is probably your best bet, since most of your sort of games can be bought on PC. Those that haven't been released on PC, you can simply download a emulator and purchase the games (legally of course, I'm not for a minute endorsing piracy here) to play through the emulators.
