Zero Hour for C&C Generals
Undead Nightmare for RDR
World of the Recycled Vessel for Nier

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Not only did it make just about every major faction in the Warhammer 40k universe playable (besides Tyranids), but it was a standalone expansion. The Risk-style Kronus campaign was a nice change of pace. Also, some awesome mods were created for it, including the Tyranid mod (there you go, all major factions playable), the Steel Legion mod, Inquisition Daemonhunt, and Firestorm over Kronus to name a few.

Blizzard expansions pretty much set the standards everyone judges expansion packs on. Broodwar, Lord of Destruction, frozen throne. All very much worth the entry fee and added a lot to the original game.
Well pretty much this. But specifically I would call Brood War one of the best expansions for any game, content-wise.

But I'll throw in Lord of Destruction as well, just because I specifically remember going to the store and buying that one, reading the manual and such. Loved that game, was the first expansion I was ever excited about (I was young, and Brood War came before I knew what to expect).

Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. By far one of the more interesting stories, i've seen used in that style of RPG and the main reason why I think Obsidian is a good studio. If you haven't played it and are a fan of D&D style RPGs, i highly suggest it.

Honorable mention to Warcraft 2: Dark Tides, Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter, Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Swordwind Coast, MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, and Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne.

Worst: Dragon Age: Awakening, Neverwinter Nights: Storm of Zehir, Any Sims 3 expansion.

Command and conquer zero hour and yuri's revenge were both terrific expansions. New campaigns for each faction from the original games and a bunch of new units for them, plus a new faction in yuri's revenge and three subfactions each in zero hour.

Either Halo 3: ODST (yes, it is an expansion, but it's a damn good one) or Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.
Halo ODST? Hell no. (seriously...just...no)
Actually yes, for me at least. I loved it (though there is rather a love-or-hate divide centred around it so I can see where you're coming from, sorta).

I'd love to be able to contribute, but I've never bought one of any kind, and can't see that I ever will. This may change but... I can't see it happening, to be honest

Rockstar and Besthesda make some of the best DLC Undead Nightmare for RDR and the Ballad of Gay Tony (LATD was alright for a DLC but was nothing compared to BoGT). Then there is Mothership Zeta, Shivering Isles ect.
I reckon you're spot on the money here, I'd add Bioware to that list tho, since Lair of the Shadow Broker was awesome.

But Yeh, Undead Nightmare is my pick for DLC of the year, and as for Shivering Isles, don't even get me started on why that's probably the best DLC I've ever experienced.

Armageddon's Blade for Heroes of Might & Magic 3, Shivering Isles for Oblivion, Frozen Throne for Warcraft III, and Firestorm for C&C: Tiberium Sun would be my personal favourites.
