Winter Assault for Dawn of War.

Everyone thinks Dark Crusade was the shit, but I'm a slave to campaigns. The "Conquer a world" thing is fun, but it gets boring.

Single player: Red dead redemption: undead nightmare.

Yes, zombies are kinda overflowing in games recently, even with me being the kind of person for whom "too many zombie games" simply doesn't exist, but red dead redemption isn't just a success at creating an effective DLC that could never be called "more of the same", but one of the best zombie games out there in it's own right. Putting cowboys and zombies together may seem like a slightly stupid, cynical marketing plan, but it genuinely works due to that combination not having been done in games (not that I know of, anyway) before, and being genuiely suited to each other. You're pretty safe crusing around a zombie infested wasteland in a car, but what about on a horse? And whereas modern assault rifles may not be suited to "aim for the head" "realistic" zombies, old western repeaters, shotguns, and revolvers are a perfect fit. Add in cameos from most of the main games characters, alive or otherwise, and an interesting change to the colour palette that means you can recognise something's wrong in new austin without even seeing any zombies, and this is simply unmissable.

Multiplayer: Battlefield bad company 2 vietnam.

Dice and EA show activision how it's done with not just four all new maps (and an extra to be unlocked via a community challenge) but practically a whole new multiplayer experience, with vietnam weaponry, vehicles, and even a sixties soundtrack to go along with it. Sure, it still needs some tweaking (damn huey can be shot down with an m1 garand and a decent aim!) but it's udoubtedly the biggest and best multiplayer expansion this year, possibly the best ever.

I always liked the Guild Wars Factions expansion (preferred it to Nightfall, personally) despite it being quite hard. The Fallout 3 DLC was also good though.

See, I bought it way after release for cheap, so I never experienced the pricing problems.
I did buy it at full price, and I don't regret it. Was fun while it lasted, and a great expansion. Wasn't too big a fan of Firefight in it, but still. No regrets for buying here.

OT: Everything in Fallout 3 bar The Pitt. Anchorage just scrapes out of the 'shit' pile because I really liked it. Nice stuff at the end, and a neat 'traditional shooter' style campaign. Refreshing break from post-apocalyptia.

Also Red Dead's Undead Nightmare. Whole new, albeit small, game for like £6-8.
I care not about the re-used map; it was awesome anyway.

WoW's ones are a given, really. Simply amazing.

Undead Nightmare is short, but really good, and with the addition of the brilliant undead overrun, definetely worth the £6-8. Also from Red Dead, the outlaws to the end pack is fun with friends, will last a good while, and best of all, it's all for free. Lovely. Ta, Rockstar.

There seems to be a lot of confusion between DLC and Expansion in this thread.

Undead Nightmare was both. Lair of the Shadow Broker is a DLC for ME2, it is not an expansion however.

Wipeout HD Fury was freakin amazing. It pretty much doubled the amount of content in the game and made it better for about £5.

Shivering Isles. Come on! What other expansion packs give you the chance to be a GOD.

Shivering Isles for Oblivion was fantastic. The world is so unique, and Sheogorath is a joy to speak with.

I wasnt a huge fan of Blue Shift. Way to short. Broken steel was good.

Every expansion pack for Oblivion was brilliant. Also Dragon Age: Awakening i thought was very good for an expansion. Fable: The Lost Chapters was fantastic when i played it.

These three.

Galactic Civilizations Throne of the Arnor was awesome because of the sheer number of options it gives you. Your games can go on for months if you make it so.

An I loved ODST actually. Short, but the atmosphere when your moving about the city at night is perfect, and the soundtrack is one of my personal favourites out of a video game.

The Shivering Isles was amazing as well.
