I think it will be Halo Reach when it comes out. Not because I'm a halo fanboy, but the weapons, vehicles and game modes are ace, and have you SEEN Forge World?

Plus jetpacks make everything better.
that and TF2

Umm Killzone 2. It focuses on actually realism, they don't make everyone as quick and accurate as solid Snake like they do in COD games. You actually need skill to play that game thats why people complain about it. I felt rewarding getting the top 3% in the world badge for a week in March.

Halo (or most 360 games imo don't have enoug players per game). I want 20+ players per game like Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MAG...

For multiplayer: Tf2 on PC

For Singleplayer: eh...this is a hard choice. I'm actually inclined to choose MW2. I realize it was ridiculous but it was so over the top that it became almost a parody of itself. I really enjoyed the campaign.

Best modern FPS for me is Unreal Tournament 3. FPS's are shit right now though, I'm tired of shooting generic guns in generic environments in generic multiplayer modes, with the exact same control scheme and mechanics as COD, with the little X symbol popping up whenever I hit something.. booooring.

I think BF:BC2 is an incredibly good game just because unlike Halo is actually requires skill.

For singleplayer, I'm giving the award to Half-Life 2 or Bioshock.

Mutiplayer pretty much instantly goes to Team Fortress 2....hey, at least I didn't say CoD or Halo

They're okay games and all, but "best" modern fps?

I think TF2 should be narrowed to PC TF2. In my experience, console Valve games don't do so well in comparison with multiplayer.

BC2, TF2 (... no, wait: pretty much every single valve game). Have to agree Deus Ex was also but depending on what type of "modern" the OP was referring to (is it a modern/post-modern setting, or released recently?), it may not count. Lost interest in CoD4 after awhile (losing my cd-key didn't help). And even though MW2 was fun and all, something didn't click after awhile, and the lack of dedicated servers eventually got to me.

Borderlands was amusing, and FO3 was nice once modded (extensively).

No offense to Halo players everywhere, but... no. And Arma 2 just didn't feel right, something felt awkward about it to me.

L4D2 was what L4D should have been. Both fun, but L4D2 finished out the formula.
