I get the feeling everybody will be saying they loved N64 or the NES. It's an oldie, which makes many give it the thumbs up. (I have one and, yes, I do enjoy it as well.)
But I got a lot of enjoyment from the gamecube. Mostly for games like Monkey Balls 2, Mario Kart Double Dash, and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. I do have a wii and I appreciate that I can play gamecube games on it. No matter the new systems nintendo puts out there I always keep coming back to my gamecube games. As for some of the wii games, well a lot of them have controls that would have been more... pleasant using the gamecube controller.
Second on my list is the gameboy advance/sp with the amazing GBA games.

But hey, to each 'is own.

I'm fully aware that my point of view isn't "the truth" in this, or any other case (cep't for bacon, bacon is awesome no matter what anyone else says)
I just look at it's function, i don't care what the gamecube was back in teh day (i have one myself and i really liked it btw) cause we live in the present, and no matter how good soemthing was back in teh day doesn't make it better today.
Yeah you have to turn it on with wii-motes (i think at least, haven't tried not to) but to me thats a really small price to pay in order to play the good game son it.

The only functional benefits i can think of that the GC have compared to teh wii is
Price, it's prolly cheaper to get a GC than a wii, if all you plan to do is play GC games anyway.
Looks, this is purely a matet rof taste, but they look different, so some people will liek one over the other.
Shape, sortof liek looks, but also helps if it absolutely has to fit in somewhere, and again, this is minor, and can go in favor for eitehr depending on where you want to put it.
I can agree with that, just look at the present at what we have a move on. However the Wii is a symbol to me of Nintendo falling, so I'm a fan of the old Nintendo now. :p

Would you still pick the Wii if it couldn't play any of the older console generation games on it?
Probably yes, i've played most of the games i wanted to play on GC anyways, and theres not coming any more games on it as far as i know, but theres a new zelda coming for the wii, and a new metroid (which sadly doens't look like a must-buy so far) and it'll have at least some years to get more good games.
I know the wii doesn't have teh greatest catalogue compared to say PS3 or 360, but it has a decent one compared to the gen before it, not as big but it has some good games, and more will come, i'm sure of it.
It better come, it's the only reason I haven't sold my Wii. Well that and the virtual console.

The SNES was originally going to get my vote because it's games were awesome, however, since they're now all being ported to the DS (pretty much), and the DS is the only handheld I play on a regular basis, plus it has Pokemon... DS wins hands down.

i still think the gamecube is the best...
The game cube didn't have that many good games in my opinion..
although it did have, Metroid Prime, and SSBM, but the DS has way more good games and a bunch of snes remakes...

Honestly, I'm surprised anyone would say that unless because honestly, it had so many great games on it. Unless your honestly just not into any of those games, honeslty?

Games like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Golden Eye 64, Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart 64, Smash Brothers, Banjo-Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Ogre Battle 64, Jet Force Gemini, Mischief Makers, Star Fox 64, F-Zero X, Body Harvest, Sin & Punishment, Yoshi's Story, Mario Party 2, Starwars: Shadows of the Empire, and that's all I can think of right now.
Sorry I missed that I used the word 'honestly' twice.

In any case, liked OoT didn't like MM, Golden Eye was alright but I only cared for the multiplayer, didn't care for perfect dark, never played Super Mario 64, didn't care for conker, Diddy kong racing had terrible controls but kart was alright, Jet Force Gemini was one of the few good games, never played Mischief makers, all Mario Parties loose their charm after a while and Wario Ware did the mini games much better, didn't much like Shadows of the Empire, never heard of Body harvest, didn't care for F-Zero X, never played Starfox 64, and.. was Sin and Punishment ever released in the states?

The games I enjoyed for the N64 were: Jet Force Gemini, LoZ: OoT, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, Super Smash Brothers, and a game I can't remember the name of.

The library of excellent games for the N64 just doesn't compare to the library of excellent games for the SNES.

Aaargh, tough choice. For me, its a tie between the SNES, the DS (albeit only on the basis that it can play GBA games), the N64 and the GameCube.

The SNES is a magnificent piece of gaming history, as was the N64. The GameCube was a great home console, with some fantastic games, and the DS is good, but only upto and including the Lite, as after that it lost its most important feature - the ability to play GBA games.

It was the NES, mate. If you don't agree, you're wrong.

The Game Boy Color. Since it was my first console, the level of rose-tintedness with which I look upon it is high.

The Wii, because you can download past games (albeit the library isn't the full library) at the Virtual Console. It's a shame that Nintendo didn't release some kind of cartridge converter that plugs into the SD Card slot so that you don't have to pay again for games that you already own, or that a Classic Controller isn't included with a Wii, seeing as the Virtual Console was launched alongside the Wii.

It may just be nostalgia, but I loved SNES the most.
I own and love all the systems and handhelds but SNES was a time when I did not own "other" consoles. I had my one and only.
The NES was my only too, but I have way more and more treasured SNES ones.
Those are games I still love and can still play.

Wii: Can play N64, SNES, NES, Wii, and Gamecube games. Along with special other Virtual Console games from various other things (Arcades etc.)

Well actually you used it 3 times in your first post but that's not the point. I was just trying to be funny which I'm not very good at. :(

Like I said earlier, your just not into all the games (can't believe you didn't care for Perfect Dark!).

I preferred the library on the N64, not saying it had more games but I had a lot more fun with each of those games, even though Super Metroid, Super Mario World and Link to the Past will always be in my favourites.
