I've never been more excited about a game release in my life than with the original SSB.
That being said, I can't stand Brawl simply because it's on the Wii (a gimmick of a system in my opinion). The Wii remote and even their classic controller are so awkward I didn't even care to miss out.

Original. Doot doot doot....
"brawl sucks?" the reason brawl is so much better is because you couldn't do that gay range increasing bullshit.
How did you get that out of "Doot doot doot".... I was referring to the mario theme song...

The games all play relatively the same to me, so I went with Brawl simply because it's the one that has them ost stuff. Though I wish that they had kept Roy and Mewtwo.

Brawl. I loved all of them, but this was my favorite. All the characters and stages are excellent.
Agreed.
The characters they added all had great Pro's and Con's and i love that some of the other older characters had some of their moves re-worked and balanced out.
Plus, Norfair with the Golden Sun 2 Boss Battle Music.... my dream come true!
now in the next one we need Felix from Golden Sun 2 and Hector from Fire Emblem 7.
We defiantly need Hector. He was such a badass in that game.
My favorite character from the game, when he got armandis i didnt think he could get any cooler, then i did a critical ATK with him...... Pure awesome in pixel anime form.
Very true. I have very fond memories of that game. I need to play it again.
Me to, when I got the true ending for the firs time, Man tears were not in short supply especaly when i figured out who Nergal was.
I would be playing it now but, DSI= no gba slot and my GBA need battery's.
I hope nintendo dose a virtual GBA on the DSI soon, i would go broke the first 5 min it was out.
I don't have a DSI yet, but my DS top screen is completely broken. I"d love to see a virtual GBA on it.
Thats too bad.
My DS D-Pad started to loose sesativity, the it just quit.
My original DS's Right Trigger Just Quit, and its a must for Fire Emblem Games.
I dont know if youve played or heard of FE 6 but , if you have wouldent Zephiel be a great character or at least a Assist Trophy?
Lance Sword FTW!
Or at least a general, Come on nintendo throw me a bone here!
Yea, my DS screen kinda stopped working over time. I've had it since realese, so I can't say to many bad things of it.
I've heard of FE6, but not played it.
I'd think a Pegasus knight would be a interesting assist trophy, I could see it swooping in and attackin the other players.
That would be cool, or a Wyvern Knight grabing a player and doing a flying smash into the stage.
I would love to see a Druid or Dark Druid as a assist trophy using Eclipse or Gliphnir.
Yes, that would be quite the spectacle. Maybe a Bishop preforming the ultimate light magic (I forgot what it was called)
That would be cool.(I think its called Aura.)
It would probbly be like Enti or Ho-Oh's specal, attacking a nice size area with good damage.
Now for non-magic characters i think a Beserker would be awesom.
He could run across the stage until he hits a character, then deals an instant KO.

Brawl. Melee was a great game but after 100% it the only thing it was good for was for parties and even then I only had 3 controllers so someone was gonna get stuck watching.

Maybe I'm just picking Brawl for the memories, but they were all great games. I just had a lot more fun with Brawl then with Melee or the Orignal.

Brawl. It's like Meele 'cept bigger. Then again, I'm not that competitive, so the gameplay tweaks didn't bother me that much.

There's no denying Melee was the bigger "boom" though. It really felt like a next-gen sequel and advanced miles on every point. Brawl felt more like a "1.5 sequel".

As someone who played them both: hell no. Those frelling final smashes, ugh. The balance was pretty screwed up too.

I'll go for Melee, it improved the much upon the original, had the best balance, everything. I would say that Brawl had a better soundtrack, but Melee had the górgeous Dream Fountain song that Brawl scrapped, and I just can't forgive Brawl for that (even though they used the Wind Waker Molgera fight song). I still play it today, so much fun.

What, you think I haven't played both? :)

And yeah I agree with you, Smash Balls are, well... balls. thank god you can turn them off.

The only thing I really don't forgive them for cutting is Poké Floats. That level was AWESOME! Why did it have to go? :'(

I think the next one should have Ghost Rider face off against Master Chief, just for giggles.

Makes sense.
For a paladin, I could see it riding through the level, and just knocking the players around.
yea, or a character like doricas.
As a warrior he could ether run arund the stage swining his axe or he could use a big hand axe ant throw it sweeping the stage from where he was released to the other side and back.
A General could be like a beserker, he walks slowly but spins his lance and throws it, anyone caught in its path would eather get high dmg or be KO.

Melee is the quickest and most responsive gameplay, while still being somewhat balanced.
Brawl nerfed a lot of characters while overpowering others *ike*, and making others just really annoying.
Thats true, but it added a lot a balance in my opinion, Ike's launching power is absurdly high but his speed and bad reaction time balance it out.

To me the level design makes all the difference. In Brawl there were too many similar (insert game theme) platform levels. Nothing like the rotating Metroid level or F-ZERO race in Brawl. But the Luigi's Mansion level kicks @ss

All of the above.

But seriously, Melee was my fave IMHO. It was just so... diverse.

And no motion controls to deal with.

I love each one a lot but in different ways. It would take too long here to explain what I like about one that wasn't carried over or what was remade that was practically tailored to what I was looking for in the game.

i don't see why everyone liked melee the most. brawl's just the same but upgraded basically. i think brawl's the best.
Because Brawl went over the line, it was just too packed with stuff. Also, lot's of characters and a few features were not featured in brawl, many of those characters were favorites, while brawl has alot of unrecognised and boring characters.
wow... ok, the second part of your comment is valid. but that is the first time i've ever heard someone say that a game has too much stuff. how can it have too much?
