Blue eyes isn't enough. You also need white skin and blonde hair. That's a recipe for success!
Hah! Isn't the nazi doctine good family fun!

I have blue eyes, and yes, we are all mind bendingly awesome.

Seriously though, I think correlation does not equal causation. My sister has brown eyes, and she is probably top 20 for intelligence of her age group in the state (Going off perfect scores in end of high school exams, studying at Oxford, endless scholarships and so on...)

I have blue eyes, and while I am still fairly bright, I'm nowhere near her league. I've always done well, but never been the best in anything, except English, as a subject.

This sounds like a social experment. There was a teacher in the 70's who taught diversity through "harsh" methods. She would tell her class that only blue eyed people where the best and they go this and that. The next day or week(not quite sure) brown eyed people would be better. So bascially everyone had a chance to feel dejected from society so on and they all learned a lesson. This seems kinda like that.

Anyways no i don't think i'm smarter then anybody because of my eye color, but then again my eyes aren't a normal shade of blue.

Gold/brown.

Studying your ass off doesn't mean you know how to apply said knowledge well in the real world, or even care to.
I saw your disease on House, idr what its called... but its not lupus.

It'd be interesting to say that I have a disease, but I don't (that I know of, anyway). They're just like that naturally, and change between the two colors randomly (there's probably a reason. I don't pay that much attention).

Unfortunately, until we've seen this article published in a more reputable journal than 'The Daily Mail' or, heck, even seen the study's procedure I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on this (after all, the Daily Mail is national laughing stock here in England: it's continuously finding itself in libel hearings for just patently making stuff up or totally misrepresenting facts, take a look at the wiki list [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail#Libel_lawsuits]).

Nonetheless, assuming the research hasn't been misrepresented, we've heard nothing about the selection criteria for the study or even it's procedure. Let's face it, given the fact that blue-eyes genetically emanate from the North-Western first world countries where logical thinking is more important than fast reaction speeds, we're going to be anticipating some pretty massive sample bias. Heck, this still overlooks the fact that any study with an uncontrollable independent variable is quasi-science (the lowest, most derided form of science (we can't infer causation from quasi-scientific studies)). Since we have no means by which we can alter someone's base eye colour and examine the way the eye-colour change affects intelligence, we can't infer anything other than a correlation.

Alas, this sort of quasi-scientific nonsense proliferates psychology and derides the science as a whole, leading to a public view of psychology as a 'soft science' and 'quack medicine'. This is a real shame because, when conducted in accordance with the scientific method, psychology can uncover some great findings. Unfortunately, many psychologists (and the centres they represent) use the nebulous nature of human behaviour to publish fraudulent sensationalist quasi-science in order to accrue personal and institutional fame.

This is still assuming this 'study' ever revealed the findings the Daily Mail quotes: I can find no mention in any reputable journal indexer of any of Rowe et al studies focussing on anything other than eye colour and sporting events or pre-frontal cortex links to memory and the only quote in the article from the researcher herself is so incredibly vague that it could have been about almost anything. Most of the article just says "look at these clever blue eyed people. THAT'S PROOF ENOUGH."

EDIT: This rant brought to you courtesy of a brown-eyed psychology student with a 99th percentile IQ. In fact, all my family on my mother's side have brown eyes and (for at least three generations) have all been 99th percentile IQ.

I have blue eyes, I don't think I have a genius level IQ but I do have my moments. On the other hand I don't believe that eye color is an indicator of intelligence either, my mom has blue eyes too and she's dumb as a post 99% of the time.

Nothing can make up for paying attention school folks, trust me.

My eyes are so brown they look black

I have a very intelligent friend who has blue eyes

As for my own intellect... I dunno, I've never bin one to brag. Some people say I'm extremely intelligent(including my before mentioned friend) and I've never bin called stupid. So I would say... I'm not stupid but I'd never call myself smart, even if I believed I was

I doubt it's a coincidence, but I'm sure there's more to it then "people with blue eyes are smarter". besides, academic success doesn't mean you're smart, it means you're dedicated. And what do they mean by "success", what's to define what a "successful" life is, money?, hell no, you can be born with money, and you can get it by being a douche bag. Does being a doctor, layer or politician make you successful?, no they're usually douche bags. And what about artists?, writers, film makers, game designers, lots of them never go to college. Only you can decide if you're life was successful because only you know what you really want. So if you're at a loss, ask yourself, do you enjoy what you do?, are you happy?

I have brown-green eyes. Blue eyed people are genius's? Bullcrap. I know plenty of blue eyed people and some of them are... well... not genius's. The rest are just average.

What about hazel eyes? I demand answers!

But yeah, I'm very disinclined to believe that eye colour has any link to intelligence.
