No BDSM relationship can succeed without complete trust and role awareness. It's part of what separates the more extreme flavors of total-submission from just plain rape.

I like bondage, for both parties, but not S&M, simply because leather (generalization, go!) isn't really my thing, but I find bondage to be fun now and again.

Actually Leather has nothing to do with S&M. It just is refering to people who get off on pain &/or humiliation (Masocists) and those who like dishing it out (sadists).
