Interesting um...topic, but yeah, my reply:

There's certain limits to what I'd submit to. But I'm still fairly submissive when it comes to this sort of thing, and I always wear a collar anyways. Only time I take the thing off is for work, and that's only because I don't want to get fired.

Provided I ever get hired again...

Yah, pretty much my weekend. I hang out with a few girls that will come to my house when I call them for BDSM.

I have pretty neutral feelings about both fetishes. I find neither bondage nor sadomasochism to be more or less enjoyable than normal sex. So yeah, I'd probably try them but I don't really have a reason to do so right now.

I'm not sure. I used to be a "try anything once" guy, but after that unfortunate incident with a box of rats and several copies of The Beatles' White album I've gone off the idea (let's just say I'm no longer welcome in Seaworld).

It'd have to be with a partner I feel comfortable trusting. If she has a sense of humour like mine I'd end up going to work the next day with a bedpost welded to my wrist.

BDSM usually involves (sexual) fantasy roleplaying, right?

Trust me, if I had a girlfriend and she said she wanted to try some fantasy roleplaying, I'd break out the dice and D&D books so fast it would make your head spin, mainly because that's what pops into my head first when I hear those words.

OT: I'm not sure I'd like to try it. Let me get through regular sex first before I decide whether or not to try the crazy stuff.

OK now I'm curious. What exactly would you class as "real" bondage?
And what type of 'American' Bondage is it that doesn't appeal to you?

I think I know what you're refering to but I'd like to be sure.
I mainly just hate how so many people say things like, "I love bondage", when they have dressing up as Rob Halford in mind. That =/= bondage. That's just the American misconception of it. I just don't like how so many people have the complete wrong idea of what it is, yet they say they love it. It's a bit annoying to people like me that like the real thing.
Mind filling the class in about 'real' bondage then?
I can't really get into the actual thing too much in the forums but basically, it has nothing to do with how much leather and spikes you can wear, or whatever. Like, I have great demonstration illustration scans from a book I got from Akibahara (sorry if I spelling that wrong) that show real bondage and how it works and so on and even came with a rope to use for yourself to get started, but any explanation I try to put here will be extremely incomplete due to a lack of details that I can use here.

It's more like when you see someone wearing a a rope tied around their body, with the knot in front of their midriff, or stomach or sometimes a bit higher up. That's closer to what's involved in actual bondage, and way more like it than wearing leather pants ever will be. People just get goth and bondage way too mixed up.

So sort of.. more a shibari ropework sort of style rather than leather and whips and cuffs?

Sorta, although it's more of a master-slave thing. It's not like dressing up as a schoolgirl and acting through a scenario. BDSM is like fantasy roleplaying in that one participant plays the domineering master and the other plays the submissive slave.

If you want my opinion on the matter, then see my above post.

I would certainly be willing to try it, if my girl or a girl I meet latter on down the line would try it. Though Im not sure if I'd like it..but better to know and be certain I don't than to not and wonder if I would

Right you are, friend. Just for clarification's sake:

Bondage = Ropes used to tie up a naked individual.

S&M = Master-slave relationship involving lots of leather and whips and cuffs.

I dated a pro dominatrix for 5 years. Great girl, amiable breakup - still friends. Good opportunity to try just about everything on the menu while we were together, especially before she quit it professionally and we still had free access to her employer's establishment and equipment (a dungeon considered among the world's top 10 by magazines like Skin Two).

Too bad the recession hit...

/aside

Not really into bondage, actually, but extreme SM (masochism primarily) and sensory deprivation are great friends. Naturally, no matter how far you're willing to go, someone out there will take it further, so getting into specifics is a complete pissing contest, beyond being inappropriately personal; but, I've been called a pain slut by enough people to "authenticate" the criss-crossed synaptic response I yield to specific stimuli most people find unbearable.

Like I said, extremely hard to get into this discussion on a real level within the forums. It's not worth it to me to get mod wrath, just to explain what bondage really is.

Yeah, I'd definitely give it a shot if the girl was willing to play along. But I'm the master and she'll need to be the sub.

Eh. It doesn't appeal all that much, but given the right guy, I could be persuaded. Maybe.
Well look no further. I joke of course... maybe.
OT: I wouldn't mind giving it a shot, I'm open to just about anything.

Ugh, I agree. I also hate it when people say "I'm kinky in bed"...no you're fucking not, using handcuffs that one time does not make you kinky. It's not just some one-off bullshit to spice up a relationship, it's a paraphilia. /rant
OH SHIT WE GOT SOME REAL HARDCORE MUTHAFUCKAS UP IN THIS

And I no longer have a use for BlindSwordsman if he expects to tie me up.

Now it's my turn to clarify a definition:

S&M indicates sadomasochism and usually includes the stereotypical whips and chains.

Master-slave is abbreviated M/s and simply indicates a relationship where one partner is given all of the power and the other partner agrees to submit completely and utterly to his/her master's command. It may or may not involve S&M or bondage; indeed, I've been in M/s relationships where no such devices were used, but the girl was under my absolute, unquestioned authority by her own choice.

Hmm lets see, no. I hate the feeling of being overpowered. It feels like rape to me, (yeah thats probably just me). I've always been really paranoid/terrified to rape. Especially after... you know what? nevermind, but lets just say it wasnt me but it was close.

If I was forced, than only as a master/Dom. Simply put, I have control issues. Lots of control issues. Attempting to restrain me is usually a very bad idea, as many of my now ex-friends can tell you.

If not forced to pick, and if I actually gave two-shits about sex, I wouldn't necessarily mind the other person literally on top, as long as no restraining/what I would perceive as assault (and legal permission to respond with violence in self-defense occurs.

Bu tlike I said, I don't give two-shits about sex (whooh! Asexuality!).
