I am very much a submissive in bed, and very much into being tied up and stuff. Only thing is, I'm not a masochist in any way, shape, or form. I like the feeling of being controlled, and I think there's plenty of really nice stuff can be done, but I dislike how often people seem to conflate 'is a submissive' with 'LOVES pain' because I don't. It's a total turn off. I am also a submissive out of bed too, but I get too frustrated with being ordered around to really embrace it. I mean, I have that aspect to me, but it keeps getting interrupted by other aspects of my personality. major frustration results. Frequently.
Admittedly, I think that I'm among a group that makes submissives look like pain sluts, but that's an overgeneralization. Sub does not always equal masochist, just like Dom does not always equal sadist.Serenegoose said:

I think I'm just too sensitive and have too low a tolerance to enjoy it. I've been pretty much reduced to tears by stuff that doesn't even bruise. I mean I understand the idea of having this threshold, and then being brought up to and pushed over it, I can see how it works, but nobody has ever really been able to reach -under- my threshold to build me up and push over it. Ah well. The only problem is that my dominant partner is a colossal sadist, and I just want someone to tie me up and do nice things. grumble grumble. Usually it just works better if we both switch.
