Now that we have seen gameplay of each character and based off of the knowledge we have on each class that will be in Borderlands 2, which character/class are you leaning towards playing or trying out first, and why?

Personally, I'm having trouble picking between Zero and Axton.

At first I thought I was going to pick Maya, because Elemental Lilith was my girl. However, Maya's action skill doesn't really seem my thing, plus I have a friend that enjoys being team medic and that sounds like one of Maya's possible roles.

I recently started another playthrough since I've never actually played any of the DLC after Zombie Island due to lack of friends to play with; this time with Mordecai, and his Gunslinger skill tree is soooo much fun. And badass. If there's a viable way to play Zero like Gunslinger Mordecai, but with more focus on that sweet sword, that just might be my character.

Then I also think I never bothered with a playthrough as Roland, so Axton could be something completely new for me. Plus it sounds like there will be so much more you can do with his turret.

How about you?

Note: I'm excluding the Mechromancer because she will not be available at launch and we don't know jack about her other than her command of mechs, like D374-TP. Sounds really cool though.

Roland was my guy in the first one so I'm thinking Axton. I like slinging lots of bullets at people, and that turret was fun as hell.

Probably Zero, because I like using sniper rifles. Screw that badass sword, everything dies before they get close enough for me to use it!

i dunno, which class is a mid range specialist? i would go with Zero, but i dont like getting that close. Then again i played as Mordecai in the first one and his action ability was bloody useless.

probably Axton.

Has to be Zer0 for me. Sniper rifle speciality, a sword and the ability to stealth. It's basically my perfect character.

Probably end up being Axton, I like going in with an assault rifle, or possibly a shotgun that shoots rockets, and fucking up everyone's day.

Zero, not even close. Back in Borderlands 1 I was our team's "Boss Killer," and I did it well. I was seriously disappointed with myself if my friends got more than two clips into a Boss/Mini-Boss before I killed it, and I'm certain I'll be reprising that role in BL2. Besides, stealth + sword = fun, no matter what game it is.

Edit: Needed to clarify, we were playing on the hardest difficulty. I was just about useless otherwise, because that game was way too easy to get massive DPS on the non-assassins, so everyone could do my job with little loss to net team performance.

Well, it's just the same character classes as the last game.

Well, I'm going to go with Zero, because I like playing as the mysterious badass.

Maya, because if this siren is anything like Lilith then she's going to be pretty much unkillable. Nothing could stop my siren in the last game and I WILL find a way to turn Maya into an unstoppable juggernaut of death as well.

Probably Salvador.

Being tough as nails is what I enjoy best. Cover is for wimps after all.

Gunzerking also sounds like the most fun action skill of them all. I just hope you fire both guns with one button instead of left-mouse button for the left one and right-mouse button for the right one (ala Skyrim), I hate that.

First character is definitely going to be Salvador since he's replacing Brick.
It will be interesting to see how his skill is going to compare to Bricks fists.

I was a big Mordecai fan, so Zero for me. I might try out Maya after that because I have some fond memories of Lilith.

Probably Salvador. I tried playing Brick in the first, but his skills seemed to lead to launchers, which were either horrible or bugged, probably both. Ended up going with Roland, which worked much better with the focus on shotguns, which were amazing.

I never really got into the original Borderlands.

I might try a bit harder on this one, and I'll likely end up going with Zero or Axton, most likely Zero.

I'm the kind who likes to keep distance and take the enemies out. Axton apparently can get a turret fighting for him, which seems nice as well.

Siren. She was by far the best class in BL1, so no reason to believe she won't be the best in BL2. Elemental damage effects stacking was absurd with her talents.

Probably Axton because I played Roland and balls to learning a new class, turret guy for me! Gonna have to get used to throwing it on roofs and walls though.

I'm definitely going to start off as Zer0, mainly due to my love of Sniper Rifles in Borderlands. The Shotguns were pretty damn good too.

But, for some good old Shotgun Rain, I'll be waiting for the Mechromancer. To me, shes essentially going to be Borderlands version of Tali. A woman with both Engineering genius, and a Shotgun? Oh yes please.
