I've been soloing out of necessity because my internet is terrible, but I also like to get the story instead of jumping between missions all day.

I'm a level 30 siren, and I've been doing the middle tree for crazy criticals and for getting health and extra damage from phaselocking people. I die all the time, especially from people who can't be lifted, but I'm having a good time doing it. Constructors are my new nemesis though

I played the first one solo, and it looks like it's gonna be the same thing for this one since I know no one playing it on the PS3.

Which is fine since I've been having fun by myself anyways, and I do look everywhere for loot and that might annoy some people.

I only got the first one to play with friends.
I only ever finished the first one (once) on my own - because it was the best thing I could play during a week-long internet outage (Steam's Offline Mode does work, bitches!)

Friends and I got to Old Haven and never touched it again.

I don't wanna play BLands2 alone, ever. I won't be playing it with my friends (for reasons), so I won't even get it.

Cuz what's the point?

Solo, that's how I played the first Borderlands, and that's how I like my RPGs. Well, okay, and I haven't been able to organize anything with my friend yet. I might do a co-op run with him at a later date, though.

I am going to play solo on my first run through. Then maybe try some coop on following play throughs.

I've been playing it solo as Zer0. It's pretty fun but I die a lot due to the games emphasis on co-op... or I just suck.
I too am playing as Zer0 and find myself dying quite a bit, I think I am in the same boat as you, needs coop, or I suck.

I agree that the menus in split screen can be a pain, especially if you're playing on a screen no bigger than your average laptop, but its the only problem I can see with multiplayer. The minor hiccups now and then have nothing against the pure overwhelming concept and gameplay, combined with such a wide and varied game (missions, places and MY GOD ALL THE GUNS) make me almost incapable of putting the controller down!
Playing with a friend is always a great way to go, with bragging rights over what gun you just found and which of you has the better head customization, it makes for a more enjoyable experience. But sometimes it's brilliant to kick them off and spend hours upon hours getting as far through the game as you can on your own.
Overall I don't think there's a downside to this game, worth getting upset about anyway...

Yeah, I'm solo, and it's a good thing too. I would not expect anyone else to tag along with me while I desperately search for the Cult of the Vault icons. Seriously, fuck those things!

I've done a good job finding them all up to the point I'm at, but I haven't even gone to Frostburn Cave and I'm 12 hours in.

I don't like joining random games because it fucks with my quests and my place in the story.
That's pretty much my method as well.

I hate joining other people's games, because almost every time I've done it, the game was being hosted by some troll who just stayed in his menu literally the entire time, just so nobody would be able to go to the next area.

Total Biscuit actually did a pretty interesting video on playing Borderlands 2 solo.

Thought I'd share.
I'll start my Borderlands 2 playthrough soon, planning to play it solo, since I don't have anyone to play with, but I liked the first one fine solo, so I should be okay.

people never seem to drop in with me..

but your right..joining random games screws with the atmosphere and story since it jumps you around....

and I dont apreciate my "teamates" teabagging lilith while she's injured

Soloing with Axton on the PC for the story, it seems better written than the first.

That and Jack is a DICK.

Been playing with my boyfriend, and it's mostly fun, but sometimes it gets a little aggravating. Might do a solo playthrough after we're done.

Some parts though make it seem like it's more intended for solo play though (such as the menus). [keep in mind, we're playing split screen]

Yeah, IF I get a chance to do co-op I really don't want to do it with my first play through since I feel like I'm rushing through it and not enjoying it.

Isn't it just awesome? It made me cave and get that as my new avatar.

I'm holding off Borderlands 2 until I get the inevitable Game of the Year/Ultimate Edition, but when that happens everyone's probably moved out of the game. =(
Don't hold off!! it is an amazing game!!!

Yeah i play a combo of solo and co-op.

I've been playing solo the entire time, and really it's been fine for me. I've probably died a LOT more than I would've when playing co-op, but that's fine. I do want to try out co-op with someone else. Shame I don't know anyone else who's got it on PC.

When I do get it I'll probably go solo, mainly because I don't really know many other people getting it on PC.
Plus I don't want anyone stealing my Gunzerking glory.

Well, I haven't bought it yet, but I guess I'll be playing solo, given that nobody else I know will have bought it for PC.

Honestly, I really wanna try out some co-op for PC. Only played Solo so far.

You can add Realitycrash on Steam if you wanna play with me.

I'll likely be soloing for the majority of my playtime, and already have several hours by myself. I just...don't really know anyone else to play with other than a friend that only has a PS3.

I'm alright with this, though. On my second playthrough I may go online, but for now solo is fine.

I started it coop with 3 friends until level 7, and man was it awesome. Then I had class the rest of the day and everyone else had nothing so everyone got so far ahead of me that it wasn't as fun to play with them anymore, since joining them would get me killed and them joining me made everything die too fast. Still love it, or what I have played of it so far.
