My first play through is solo but then I'll do a lot of coop to hunt for better loot. Also, I agree. The story is surprisingly good. It probably wouldn't be as meaningful to people who never played the first game but for me it's really special seeing all of the old characters come back and have them tell me how awesome I am.
its amazing what small things like charachters talking to you can do...much more engaging..I'm actually surprised how well the game works solo

also
at the start when I found an audio-log with Jack telling roland "...how we killed you buddy Lilith" I was like 0_0 NOOOO!!...even though I was pretty sure she'd be in the game

fair enough...I'm pretty much the same...though if I do get round to a second playthroigh I;d likley be on PC (hopefully if I can make that happen)
Second play through might be with a buddy, or me just fucking around in the game. I'm hoping it's like in the first one where I'm stupidly OP for a really long time before everyone catches up with me. I have a new enemies I'd LOVE to get revenge on.

.....*snrrrrrk*.....its ok I've seen worse

but yeah, it sucks that thease things cant be changed
No no, go ahead and laugh, it's one that deserves to be laughed at. I looked into changing it and I'd basically have to create a new account, and it's really not worth it.

I wouldn't mind paying a small fee to change it, but that's just me. :/

I'm currently doing a co-op run with clanmates at the moment, and although I'll probably attempt a solo run at some point I can't see it being anywhere near as much fun. I wouldn't be able to face co-op with randoms though, as there'd be no accountability for loot-hoarders. At least friends are totally open-minded when it comes to inventory sharing.

Solo-ing all the way on PC as Stormaxe (Axton) on the PC and it is really fun. I don't mind playing multiplayer with him too but...my internet...Australia's internet SUCKS too much for me to play online.

I might get online if the internet gets better in about 100 years. -_-'

Still, loving the piot, gameplay, characters and everything else in between the game. Its better then the first one which I love and I can play it by my self which makes it even better. (Cause I can take it at my own pace)

Also...I...HATE...dem shotgun midgets! Moving around so I can't kill them...it's not like they want to live! >:D

I'm actually doing it solo this time. The story and characters are so much better this time around that I don't actually fell like I need anyone else with me to enjoy the game.

I would only ever play this with friends though as playing with randoms with a shared loot system is just asking for trouble.

Playing solo as Axton and basically stomping all over everything at this point. If I think I'm about to go down, I just lay down my turret to help me get back up.

First time through I always play solo. I like to go at my own pace, see the sights, and do all the side quests. After that I go half and half.

Fully agree. Just by having people talk to you, you get a much greater emotional attachment to them. I think it also helps that for anyone who played the first game, we have a bigger connection to the main characters because we actually played as them. So for me, if anything bad happens to them, I take it rather personally.

The other thing that really helps the story of this game is that Jack is actually a compelling villain. Steel rarely talked to you in the first game so you and the real main villain didn't show up until the end so there wasn't any real antagonist for quite some time.

Jack makes it known very quickly that he is an asshole. I can't really think of any other characters who can be making me laugh in one scene and then making me want to rip their head off in the next one.

Ive logged about 30 hours in it so far, all solo, but not by choice. The quests are too long and confusing to do without actual communication, and just like the first one the matchmaking system is practically dead, so you gotta play with people you know or GTFO. I had 3 friends lined up for the game, one of em vanished off the face of the earth, the other just suddenly stopped wanting the game 24 hours before it hit, and the last just ran into sudden financial issues, so Im totally on my own for who knows how long.

Its a serious bummer, cus the game is fantastic but its nightmarishly difficult and unfair alone, I may not even have the energy to finish one playthrough before I burn out from all the respawn runs.

Eh, I don't really like playing with random people and no one else I know has it so I've just been solo on most of it. I find that I have to grind a bit more to make up for the lack of other people but it's still been fun as shit.

I really liked the first one, but this one is much better.(even solo)

Well today I discovered my when-available partner's internet won't let us play together. So yeah, looks like I'll be playing solo for the most part.

Solo but since I really don't have Internet I can't play online and I'm sorta not in the mood to share BL2 to do split screen co-op yet...

I'm playing solo with my Gunzerker, Peter Pain. I do plan on doing multiplayer with some friends after I beat the game on both playthroughs.

Was playing it solo while I wait for one of my friends to get it at the end of the month and another chum to stop playing torchlight 2. Now sadly, after my pc refusing to powering on for a day (I'm assuming my PSU is dying), I deciding to stop crying and clean my computer and GPU fan (with my tears), computer randomly starts up but my graphics card fan now sounds like its going to explode (Read: I fucked it)... so I'm running off motherboard graphics... no borderlands 2 for me now. I hope I can fix it... I still don't know why my computer is having such a hard time powering up. Once it's on, it's fine. FU**%£*$ $**^$!(^ $*"!&! BALLS.

Anyway, Borderlands 2.. solo... great game... probably even better in co-op... *^&£"*^%$%£"%^&$%^& "&£$%^** *&£"$^ ****.

Half-and-Half for me, for the sole reason I found an orange Tediore shotgun playing solo. Reloading, it followed baddies and shot at them for me. Real ammo drain, but damn did that last me a while.

Playing online, I tell people to get mics or I kick them. Ninjas are always silent...

I'm on 360, but its no different, if you use the matchmaking you can get into a game, but nobody talks at all, and you tend to just all scatter and get slaughtered then leave. When hosting with an open game absolutely nobody joins, ever. Again, exactly like it was in borderlands one.

hmm..so mabye its not just me

not everyone has mics...and even then I'm too shy to even use mine

the few randoms Ive played with we have stuck together as a team..its all luck of the draw anyway

My actual question here is [b/]has anyone else been playing Borderlands 2 solo?[/b]
Yes.

Only because, for some unfathomable reason, being connected to the internet causes my game to stutter.
Disconnect the net? Smooth as warm butter.
Reconnect? Stuttering.

No idea why, and whilst other people have this problem it doesn't appear to be widespread enough for anyone to knock out a workaround, other than playing offline.

You'll get good groups... aaand you'll get groups that don't give a crap about you. I've rezzed three times in hairy situations just to have the same walk by me as I'm fighting for life.

Best to find IRL mates or OL good friends to play with. Otherwise, BOOT!
