Since you'll be getting both a coin-toss is the only way to decide this. Plus whenever people make threads like this, usually they already have their minds made up, so you tell us.
That is so true. And notice how it's never the one you recommend?

OT: I voted for brutal legend, mainly because I won't be getting uncharted 2 at all, thanks to Demon's souls and brutal legend.

Uncharted 2.

The Brutal Legend demo was dull and yes it made me smile like I'd passed wind a couple of times but nothing mind-blowing.

From the Uncharted vids I've seen there are some generally funny moments from the characters. Plus it seems to nearly perfect everything that it tries to do.

It could almost be enough to make me want to buy a PS3.

BL seems very meh.

I'm sorry, but as someone who's also thinking of buying both I can't help feel 90% of people here haven't given any helpful information what-so-ever.

WOW - BL has a guy cutting people in half with a guitar. Awesomely... gimmicky. Sounds funny, yes, but is it still enjoyable 20 hours or whatever in? I've played hack and slash games before and many get boring after the 10th level of button mashing. Anyone here care to stop acting like metal geeks and actually explain why it's worth playing to the end?

I know Schafer has made some fantastic games in the past, but that's mainly due to the writing, not the gameplay. Uncharted 2 on the other hand appears to have some good writing AND a strong emphasis on gameplay. What's the lasting appeal on that? Are any of them worth playing through a second time over and beyond? Both are my no.1 priorities when I get my PS3, and I'll only be able to get one at first, so which is likely to best introduce me to the power of the PS3?

I went for Unharted 2 myself. I really enjoyed the Brutal Legend demo, but I think that U2 will have longer lasting appeal than BL. So far I'm REALLY enjoying U2 by the way. The multiplayer is solid and good fun, the characters are fantastic, the graphics gorgeous, the story engaging, it's brilliant.

I got both at the same time ^^

Playing Brütal now, got a school break in a few weeks so I'll be going at Uncharted then ^^

Brütal Legend is awesome, and I haven't heard a bad thing about Uncharted. BL is a bit short though, you might want to take that into consideration ^^

I don't even own a PS3 and I say get Uncharted. Brutal Legend isn't all that great gameplay wise. Sure the story and the actors are great but the gameplay is something to be desired. Having to sit through the same rythym game or QTE (whichever you want to call it) just to do the simplest thing like cap a resource point or summon a car is annoying. Not having some sort of hp bar is just sad. You don't know if you are about to die til you are pretty much dead. And I have fallen off so many cliffs now simply because the ground just ends with no real warning that I just no longer have any urge to explore.

Cool, thanks for that description. I was afraid the metal fans would fail to mention this kind of stuff.

I am a huge metal fan and I have now TWICE had to switch Brutal legend off in frustration because it hates me.

Driving off cliffs is one thing, but stupid cheap lightning-blasting horse riders insta-killing you when all you want to do is explore the scenery gets old real quick.

The RTS parts are horribly explained and implemented and there are no proper turorials to help you deal with high end baddies. The menus are beyond fiddly.

The guitar solos are annoying because if you try and play the offensive ones the enemies gang up and kill you before you even finish them.

Guys, I can't be the only one who found this game frustratingly tough, can I?

Yes even the beginning menu is horrible. It took me 5 minutes to find the bloody RTS battles. I thought I would have to beat the game to unlock them. And yes I am with you on the difficulty. Last night I was exploring when from behind this herd of motorcycle boar hybrids just raped me. I didn't even get a chance to attack before I was reloading (just to have to play the god damn summon car song for the septillionth time).

I think the biggest problem is there is to many different game mechanics. You have a sandbox, hack n slash, rts, rythym, driving and Overlord type game mechanics in one game. None of which were perfected (or even close). And the ambush side missions are just plain wrong. They are just a waste of disc space. I am dreading the racing sidequests. The hunting ones are a yawnfest. They are only worth doing because of the hunter himself (I like that guy, he is a great actor).

Oh and I almost forgot to mention the AI will cheat in "stage battles". For resource gathering you need to build these booths on top of geysers. If you get to a geyser and there are enemies around it will be red and you can't build on it. If on the other hand you have a bunch of your units around a geyser the AI leader can still cap it.

MW2.

No, but I say Uncharted 2. Or no, I say, pick your own game. You can get all information you need about both of the games in reviews and other stuff, and then it's just up to you to deicide which one you wanna get first. I would say Uncharted 2 first, but that's probably because I don't like '80 metal that much. Who knows, you might do.

Put in a "Neither, I don't like 3rd person games that aren't RPGs"

Yes. I hate 3rd person shooters or action games.

I may just get Brutal Legend due to Jack Black being in it.

I could have gotten both yesterday. I had the money. I only got Uncharted 2. I don't regret it. I want Brutal Legend, but I'd rather wait for that.

Uncharted 2. I just don't see brutal legend as a game I would play without the motivation of sudden head trauma to help me along.

From a statistics point of view, its silly to ask that question on an open forum. This isn't a ps3 forum, its a video game forum in general. Since we all know that the install base for the 360 is larger than that of the ps3 you can assume that at least half if not more than the users on this forum can't even make an eduated decision about both games and are going to vote for the multiplatform title since they have acces to it.

On top of that, there are going to be people who own ps3 who prefer brutal legend to uncharted 2. I would call those the only really "unbiased" opinions you're going to get, if such a thing even exists. As for me, I've played both, and I think they're both excellent games but they're kind of hard to compare. The style, gameplay, everything is completely different, however if i had to choose one, I'd say uncharted 2 was a more positive experience. At times I found myself sort of... struggling through brutal legend just to experience the story. The gameplay gets kind of repetitive and tedious.

If you only had the money to buy one... I'd buy uncharted and rent brutal legend.
The fact that uncharted 2 is anywhere near 50% of the votes is astounding and should tell you just how good of a game it is.
