WAIT! This isn't a 'which one should I get' kinda deal, oh no; this is more like a 'which one should I get first' kinda deal. So, yeah; Uncharted 2 or Brütal Legend? Fortune hunters or heavy metal revolution WITH JACK BLACK :O?!?!?!?!?!

Besides, you're picking which one should I get RIGHT NOW and then I'll get the other one for Christmas.

VOTE AWAY!
Dude what the hell id wrong with you. If Brutal hasn't a very nice gameplay, then it has an awesome story. But with Uncharted you get some smug racist prick going:"Uuuuh great, black people with guns." and some ripped of story or just "National Treasure II". Really, go with Brutal Legend, at it has a GOOD and funny story.
Yet another exceedingly well written and accurrate review of uncharted 2 by someone who no doubtedly has not only played it, but deffinitely owns a ps3. Bravo good sir. You're absolutely right, Nathan drake is not only a racist, but a SUPER NAZI who spends his life doing nicholas cage impressions.
Nice irony here, touchèz.

Have only played Brütal Legend, and I loved it so I am going to vote that.
To those who have played U2, could you tell me what makes this game fun and unique? I've heard people saying it's great, but I can't really seem to see what exactly that makes it great. I'm maybe picking it up, so don't see this as criticism, I'm just curious. Just prove it's worth a buy!

Oh, and to anyone who hates Brütal Legend just because jack Black is in it. Seriously, grow up. I think he did a great job voicing Eddie, and it's not like he wrote the script, so you can't blame it on that.

I played the first Uncharted and my reaction was actually kind of "meh". Truth be told Yahtzee joking around about how all the bad guys (except one) were non-white, making the game racist, was more interesting than the game. Truthfully I had to look at an online walkthrough a couple of times to figure out where to jump in places simply because I couldn't bloody tell what objects were grabbable and which ones were not.

As a result Uncharted 2 wound up on my personal "wait for $20 used copies, or not at all" list.

As a result I recommended Brutal Legend, which I *HAVE* been enjoying, though it is a bit short, and fairly easy if you put it on anything except for Brutal. I'm playing on normal, and have found like 3-4 hours to invest in the game and I am over 50% of the way through (and I'm a lousy collectible hunter so those aren't padding my percentage).

Others are going to disagree, but that's my thoughts. If nothing else I recommend supporting Double Fine, Uncharted is ultimatly kind of uninspired to me. I mean the first game to me was simply average, combined with a kind of random "guess where to jump" framework I personally did not care for. I spent more time trying to figure out where to jump in that game than I did trying to solve the actual puzzles.

Brutal Legend. Simple as that. Because it has Jack Black, and it's made by the guy behind Psychonauts, Grim Fandango and Monkey Island. How could you possibly consider waiting to get THAT?!?

I WAS going to pick up both on the same day, but then I heard about Brutal Legend's 8 Hour Length and decided to only pick up Uncharted 2 (which looks like it'll be clocking in at around 10-11 hours).

I'm sorry, as good as Tim Schafer is, 8 Hours is not a very respectable length especially when you're on a budget in the middle of prime gaming season. Though personally, I didn't pass up Brutal Legend for Uncharted, I'm passing up Brutal Legend for Borderlands tomorrow.

Uncharted 2 is basically Uncharted with more scripted sequences, which is quite nice, but there are a hell of a lot of ways to break those sequences by doing things the designers didn't anticipate, which lead to you either falling out of the gameworld, dropping dead unexpectedly, or reloading a checkpoint.

Personally, I'd reccommend anyone with a PS3 to actually play it, it's engaging and fun, but I'm quite glad I bought Brutal Legend and borrowed Uncharted 2 off my mate.

Uncharted 2 hands down. Brutal Legend just seems gimmicky to me, I can't imagine the story is too spectacular (granted, I haven't played either of the games), there are several different genres of games all glued together, and in my experience it is often better for developers to focus on only one, and get it perfected. Uncharted 2 has a fantastic storyline, solid climbing/shooting gameplay, and if it's anything like the first game, will be addictive as hell, and only frustrating if you play on higher difficulties.

Brutal Legend, do it now.

Everyone complaining about the RTS sections are well... wrong.

They're awesome, the story is great, the characters are great, and the combat is great.

My only complaint is that it's pretty short.
Is there any other personal opinions we should be aware of that are wrong? Please enlighten us so we dare not think for ourselves.

It is possible I was kidding. Yes, yes I was definitely kidding.

Calm down.

I'm more metal than most people I know/run into online, and I prefer the 360 over ps3, but I still gotta give the nod to uncharted 2. By all accounts I've heard it's a better, deeper game.

But if you're going to end up with both anyway, a coin flip really is the best determinant.

I've seen Uncharted 2 played through, and it's an exceptionally well done action movie with good (though uninspiring) gameplay. The bad part about it's basically a good Tomb Raider game or a great Indiana Jones game, and not original...
Whats wrong with a great Indiana Jones game? It may not be original but it still fun as hell.
A lot of people enjoy it. I don't as much. With games (and movies) of this genre, I feel like I've played the same game earlier, maybe with worse graphics, less polish, worse game mechanics, and a slightly different story but it's still just not unique enough to have the premise interest me.

If they tried more unique mechanics than action movie gunplay + cover + Prince of Persia: SoT cinematic platforming, had a more nuanced story/theme than Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ending in Nepal (not having Nazis as the villain was good), or did something more unique with the graphics than increasing the realism and making really pretty, colorful vistas (to be fair, very, very few games do anything like this), then I'd be more interested.

It's still a really good game. They successfully copied and incrementally improved the themes behind Indiana Jones rather than just copying the set pieces, which is the best form of imitation and is usually pretty difficult to pull off. It's just not to my taste, partly because it's not original enough in gameplay, theme or story, and partly because it's emulating both a movie and video game genre that I'm not greatly enthused by.

It's also short and has a poorly done forced stealth section near the beginning.

Tim Schafer. Dude Raider. Hmmmmmmmm
Tim Schafer isn't that credible. Especially since he had to explain an entire gameplay element because it was so poorly executed.

Uncharted 2 is the better game. Plain and simple. Naughty Dog games always have a stunning level of polish and attention to detail. As for "Dude Raider," you might want to form your own opinion instead of relying on something stupid that someone else made up.
